Naruto: What is Love?

Round 1: Sasuke

'Wow, I thought Sasuke would be a more entertaining match than this.'  Ookami had been watching the young Uchiha's fight, leaning over the railing. Her bright violet eyes keeping a close eye on him. She was standing at the end of her squad, Temari on her right side, the Sound ninja's a little ways from her left.

"Hmm." Ookami's pupils dilated for a slight second when she noticed a mark starting to overtake Sasuke. 'That is what I could smell...what is that?' She lowly growled, then slowly walked behind her squad to make it to a spot to stand beside Gaara.

Gaara took notice, glancing down at her small figure. "What is it, Ookami?"

"That Uchiha...something is....wrong with him." She said through growling teeth.

'Even more reason I'll have fun killing him.' Gaara thought to himself, focusing his attention back on Sasuke's fight.

"Man, he got lucky." Kankuro said with a laugh as Sasuke finally won the battle.

Sasuke then looked over and up at Ookami, who was staring at him with a slightly tiled head. He smirked then winked at her.

"Looks like the Uchiha has a thing for you, Ookami." Temari teased the smaller blonde.

Ookami rolled her eyes then grumbled. "Do not encourage him."

"Wow, good job Sasuke!" Naruto yelled excitedly for his team mate.

This made Ookami smile. 'He has such a good heart.' But her smile quickly dropped. Her eyes shot to Gaara who was trembling, gripping his arms tightly now and growling slightly.

His siblings looked at him worried.

'Ah shit, not again.' Kankuro internally sighed.

Ookami only frowned on the inside while keeping her external composure. She wish she could help him, maybe even comfort the red-head in some way. Even to rub his back or lick his face. But, she had never touched Gaara, no one ever has. The only thing she could do was to make sure no one hurt him, and to stick by his side no matter what.

Thankfully, once they took Sasuke away, Gaara stopped trembling and Ookami could feel him get calmer. She glanced over at the board, but then heard Gaara's voice, "Ookami.." She looked up at him. "Go.." He looked from her to over to Naruto, Sakura and Lee. Ookami looked back at him and nodded. "Right."

As they changed opponents Ookami, in a flash, jumped over to Naruto and Sakura.

"Hello you two." She politely announced herself. 

"Ahh!" Sakura freaked.

"Holy crap! Where did you come from?!" Naruto freaked out as well.

The Sand ninja arched an eyebrow at the pair then shook her head. 'Jumpy, aren't they?'

She put her arms behind her back, holding her wrist with her one hand. She smiled at them sweetly. "Congratulations to your team mate's win. Good way to start off the rounds!"

Finally calmed down, Sakura and Naruto smiled.

"Thank you, Ookami. I'm just so glad he didn't get hurt." The pink haired girl said.

"Yeah, yeah. Wait until you see MY match!" Naruto said excitedly.

Ookami smiled with her eyes and giggled. "Of course, Naruto. I look forward to your fight very much."

"Why?...Do you like Naruto, Ookami?" Sakura kind of snickered. 

Ookami blushed but smiled, even though on the inside she was biting her tongue and wanting to strangle the tall pinkette. 'You're lucky I'm working right now little girl.'

"Hey! Why are you laughing about that, Sakura?!" Naruto asked annoyed.

"Don't let her get to you, Naruto. She's just jealous that Sasuke has a crush on me, and not her." The petite ninja grinned, her eyes closing as she did so.

"What?!" The pink haired rookie screamed, fuming.

Ookami laughed then leaned against the railing and looked down at the now, finished match.

"Looks like Buggy Boy won." She pointed out to the pinkette and blondie.

"I didn't know he was that strong.." Sakura said surprised, no longer paying mind to what Ookami said about Sasuke.

Ookami then looked behind Naruto and Sakura and sniffed at the air.

"Uh..what are you doing?" Naruto questioned. Sakura looked behind them and in a 'poof' of smoke, their sensei appeared.

Ookami focused on the board as the two rookies talked with their sensei about Sasuke.

"Tsurugi Misumi Vs. Kankuro." The proctor announced.

"Oooh." Ookami's senses perked, and she twisted her body so her stomach pressed against the railing and she rested her elbows on the railing as well. 'This will be interesting!' She thought excitedly.
