Ookami, a blonde violet eyed petite ninja, has a dark and mysterious past. And who would have guessed the monster of the Sand Village was the one to find her and take her in. Maybe he is intrigued by what she's hiding under her skin?

"Hey wait!" Shikamaru Nara shouted, reaching his hand out towards the small blonde. Ookami looked back at him, her hand over her bleeding shoulder. "She's hurt, she should see a doctor first." He turned a slight pink. Gaara continued out the door the door and out of sight.
Ookami gave Shikamaru a gentle smile and her hand gave off a green aura as she began to heal herself. The sand genin then went after her red-headed team mate. Once caught up to him, the pair walked in silence. Ookami could tell he was upset with her, but why he hadn't said anything to her about it yet made her uncomfortable. She had never gotten in Gaara's way before, she either stood by his side or helped him.
Just as Ookami had finished healing her hip wound Gaara stopped walking and folded his arms across his chest. Ookami stopped beside him and looked up at him. He stared off into the sunset and she wished she could read his mind.
"What you did back there..." Gaara started to speak, and Ookami braced herself. "..was very smart." Ookami cocked an eyebrow at him, that wasn't what she was expecting to hear.
"Now those Leaf genin fully trust you." he turned his head and his teal eyes looked down at his blonde counter part. "You're a very intelligent kunoichi." Ookami blushed. It was rare to get a compliment from Gaara, but it was not the first time he had done it. 'He thinks I did t to gain their trust...but I did it because I care about those guys..'
"Thank you, Gaara." She bowed her head at him.
He stared at her for a moment, then turned to leave. "I'm going home."
Ookami nodded and watched as he walked off. Her stomach then grumbled at her. 'I'm hungry!'
Once back into town, Ookami was trying to decide where to get some dinner. Everything smelled so delicious, the she-wolf almost started to drool. But then, her sharp violet eyes saw Shikamaru. 'I wonder what he's up to?' She smiled, thinking to herself. She then watched as he entered a restaurant. She ran after him.
"Yeah Dad, I'm in those final rounds tomorrow." Shikamaru groaned to his tipsy father.
"What? You are?" His father seemed very clueless.
Ookami giggled to herself as she watched from the door way. Shikamaru sighed, "Nevermind, just forget it."
"Hey Maru!!" Ookami's pretty voice rang through the building.
Instantly, Shikamaru turned red. Choji's dad, Ino's dad and Shikamari's dad all looked over. Ookami wrapped her arms around Shikamaru's neck from behind in a hug. She had to get on her tip toes. The Nara boy couldn't help but smile a little as he looked at her.

"Hey Ookami, what are you doing here?"
"I need to eat dinner! Haven't eaten all day." She gave him a frown.
"Shikamaru, who's this?" Shikaku asked his son, looking at Ookami.
"This is Ookami, she's from the Sand Village. She's in the final rounds tomorrow as well."
"Ookami..of the Sand? Are you the one who beat my daughter?" Inoichi raised an eyebrow at the small girl.
Ookami grinned at him. "I did!"
'Oh man..' Shikamaru thought this was going to go badly.
"Then I must buy you a drink!" Inoichi shouted then laughed. Ookami giggled.
"What?! Wait, she's not old enough to drink! Can't you just buy her food instead?" Shikamaru could feel Ookami's tummy growl against his back since she was still hanging off of him.
"Yes! Food for our two finalists!!! It shall bring them good luck!" Choza declared loudly, ordering a shit ton of food for himself and Shika and Ookami. Ookami couldn't help but laugh again.
"Come on, Maru. Let's enjoy ourselves." She grabbed his hand and lead him to seats by the three fathers.
Shikaku gave his son a look, making Shikamaru blush.
Ookami enjoyed herself that night with Maru and the other Leaf ninja's. Plenty of talking, laughter and food went around. She couldn't remember having a fun time like this before, not even with the Sand Siblings. It stung at her heart knowing that tomorrow, she would have to turn her back on all of these wonderful people she had befriended the last month.
'I can not falter, this is my mission...and I have never failed a mission.'
