Let the Tournament Begin!

Ookami stood between Gaara and Kankuro. She hadn't spoken to anyone since returning to the apartment last night.

As Shikamaru looked around at everyone he noticed how a few of the members of the final rounds were missing. His eyes then landed on Ookami. Her violet eyes were narrowed at the protctor in front of them. 'There's something different about her today...is she just in the zone? We had a good time last night...I believe....man, that sounded wrong.' He sweat dropped at his thoughts.

Ookami's ears then twitched and her nose wiggled at the air. She suddenly turned back towards the doors to the arena and she growled. Gaara looked at her then at the doors.

"Hey, what is it?" Kankuro asked the petite blonde, looking back.

Then, flying in through the tunnel, to Shikamaru's feet, was Naruto Uzumaki. Ookami cocked an eyebrow, then turned back to the proctor. Gaara rolled his eyes, and Kankuro chuckled. "What a loser."

After Shikamaru helped Naruto to his feet, the blonde boy looked around. "Hey, where's Sasuke?"

"Yeah, Ookami's opponent Dosu, is missing too." Shikamaru pointed out.

"Hey! Straighten up and look proud you two." The proctor said sternly to the two young Leaf genin.

All of the Sand ninja's watched up on the platform where the Hokage sat and watched as the Kazekage joined him. Gaara glared and growled, his hands turning into fists. Ookami's lips rolled back as she snarled, her body trembling a little bit.

The Hokage stood up and gave his greetings and thanks, but the Sand ninja's paid no mind to his words. They had too much going on in their own minds.

The proctor then faced the genin's and said, "Have a good look. This is the new pair ups."

Everyone looked at the piece of paper.

Shikamaru's eyes bulged. "I have to do two rounds?" 'And it's both against the female Sand ninja's..' He looked at Temari and Ookami who glared at him.

"That's only if you win the first round." The proctor laughed. "Whoever wins against you and Ookami will go against Temari."

Temari looked at Ookami. 'I'd have to fight Ookami..? But..'

"Um..what is Sasuke doesn't show up in time?" Naruto asked.

"Then it means he is disqualified."

'Oh...he'll be here.' Ookami snorted annoyed.

"Now, the terrain is different but the rules are the same. There are no rules. One opponent must admit defeat or dies. The first match is Naruto Uzumaki and Neji Hyuga. Those two stay, the rest of you can go to the waiting area."

As the rest of them walked off the grounds Ookami stopped behind Naruto and hugged him. Naruto was startled at first but then looked back and down to see who it was and smiled.

"You can beat him, Naruto. I believe in you." She smiled at him and he grinned.

"Thanks Ookami!"

Ookami then jogged off after her team mates and up to the waiting area.

"Aren't those two so cute?" Sakura had hearts in her eyes as she cooed over Ookami and Naruto's hug.

"Wait who?" Ino asked her confused.

"Ookami and Naruto! They totally have a thing going on." She giggled.

Ino laughed. "What? Them? No way! Her and Shikamaru are for sure a thing! Have you seen those two together this past month?"
