Chapter 4

"What.....is that?" Madelyn asked.

"Why ,it's a lion ,my dear. You've never seen one before?" Asked Happy Face. Madelyn was as much of a dumbass ,as she was a bitch.

"Whatever, just don't bring that thing back here next year." It was scary to see how fast Happy Face's smile dropped.

"Um excuse me, but this is my carnival ,so I own it. I can do whatever I want."

"Well than, I guess you're not coming back ne-"

"I wouldn't do that ,Madelyn." I butted in.

"If you took this place away ,you'd be the most hated girl in school. No matter if you're parents basically own this town." At that moment I knew what Melody's face was. Good thing I didn't turn around.

"You've got some nerve."

"Umm no you've got some nerve thinking you can get rid of this place. I'm pretty sure popularity's important to you. Isn't it?" Madelyn hated challenges. So her response was to give me another snide look and leave.

"I don't know how you can deal with that evil girl. But nonetheless thank you for coming ,Kora. If I may ,I would like to give you and you're friend free passes to every ride here." Happy Face said with the smile ,once again, on his face. Melody squealed and I smiled. I had to take them or Melody would shoot me.

"Gladly." After that being said Happy Face handed me the passes and vanished. I turned around to see Melody with her jaw dropped.

"Close you're mouth. You're gonna catch a fly." She shut her mouth and gave me the death glare. I handed her the tickets and the smile came back. We rode every ride again. But none of them really mattered. It soon became dark and the Fun House opened. The lights of every ride came on and it looked really cool. You could see it from a mile away. Everybody started heading for the Fun House like a moth to the flame. And when I say everybody, I mean everybody.

Soon the the line got shorter. The weird thing thought is that anybody who came in ,didn't appear to come out. But it might have been just because it was dark out and even with the lights ,you couldn't see them. I saw the Perfect Apple go in and for once, I was jealous. Eventually it was my turn to go in so I handed the man the free pass ,and went towards the entrance. Right before I did though ,I saw Madelyn at the exit looking at me. She had a worried look on her face and she kept shaking her head everytime I got closer to the entrance.

What was with her and ruining my life? I started to head towards her. Melody grabbed my arm ,but I ripped out of her grasp and continued to go towards Madelyn. That made Madelyn even more worried.

"What is up with you? Can't you just leave me alone? Or can you not stop being a bitch." Madelyn started to mouth the words "Please don't". I was starting to get pissed.

"Whatever. You're not even worth my time." I turned around and continued walking. Not even caring that I caused everyones eyes to focus on me.

"C'mon Melody let's g-"

"NNNNNNNNOOOO-"

I turned around to see one hand over Madelyn's mouth and an arm around her waste. She was crying to. Then the person dragged her into the Fun House. The memory of her red, puffy eyes was suddenly engraved in my mind.
