S I X T E E N

Noah woke up in a strange room on an uncomfortable bed.

"Hello, Noah." An odd voice spoke deeply yet softly. "I see you're awake now." Noah sat up to see a tall man standing in the corner of the metal room.

"Who are you?" Noah asked as he squinted to get a better look at the man.

"You don't need to know my name, Noah. I am here to make you norm-" the man was cut off by a feminine scream. Noah looked around the room in panic. "No need to worry."

"That was my mom." Noah whispered. "WHY DID I HEAR MY MOM?" He jumped off the bed and headed towards the door.

"Noah you didn't hear your mother."

"Yes I did, shut up!" Noah ran out the door, screaming down the corridors. "MOM?! MOM ARE YOU THERE?!" He got a yell in pain as a response. He threw open the closest door and saw that she was tied up with his dad in the corner, holding a bat.

"I lied." Mr Schnapp spoke.

"What?" Noah breathed.

"I lied about the sexuality thing. I was never a faggot! I've brought you here to be normal. To be like the rest of us! TO NOT BE A FAGGOT!" Mr Schnapp spat. He ran at Noah with the bat but he dodged.

"STOP IT!" Noah raged and shoved his dad into the metal. He quickly untied his mom and they ran as fast as they could. "This way!" Noah dragged her towards the door the exit signs pointed to.

They reached a place away from the building and Karine stroked Noah's hair.
"You brave, brave boy." She placed a kiss on his head and walked him home. "Unfortunately, you're going to have to turn up late to school."

Noah walked into his math class late but the teacher didn't care.

"Hey, Noah!" Perry chirped. "There's a new kid a couple grades up."

"Cool." Noah replied flatly.

"What's gotten into you? Ohhh! Are you all sad you can't see your little Finny Booo!" Perry fake gushed.

"Shut up!" Noah said hitting Perry's arm.

"Awww but you love him so muccchhh!" He put on a baby voice.

"No I don't!!" Noah whined.

"Yes you dooooo!!"

"I do not!"

"Boys! Be quiet!" The teacher snapped.
