"You're not going to die, Noah, you won't!" Mrs Schnapp yelled.

Heavy breathing filled the room - from Noah and Finn. The two boys had separate worries.

Noah's fear bulked up his entire body. He hoped he wouldn't die, that he would get to see Finn again, see his mother. Sweat ran down his forehead as he imagined death. Another beep. Eyes flickering to the heart monitor, Noah prayed that he wouldn't flatline - he couldn't.

On the other hand, Finn was sobbing viciously unable to process any thoughts. Everything was spinning, his head, the room, his thoughts. Eyes blurry and body shaking, he stumbled next to Noah's bed and collapsed on the chair. What happened next he did not know.

For Mrs Schnapp, her world seemed to be the worst. Her son - potentially dying, his boyfriend - passed out, the doctors - running around frantically.

"Mom." Noah whispered. His body was weak, "I love you."

"Noah, no," her body swelled with emotion, "I love you too. Hang in there, buddy."

"Tell Finn the same. I'm going to let it happen."

"No."

Noah slowly allowed himself to be taken by the so called sweet release of death. To him, it felt like nothing. To Mrs Schnapp, the world seemed to end. Her most loved one passed.

Eventually, Finn came around but the first thing he saw was Mrs Schnapp's tear stained face. He immediately knew what had happened. Nothing pained him more than knowing that if he had walked home with Noah, he could've seen the car and warned him about it.
