Kat's POV

"Ugh!" I groan, slamming my laptop shut. Declan looked up at me startled as Patrick looked over.

"Everything okay..?" He asks.

"I have to speak at his funeral and I have no idea what to say!"

"Alright, alright. Take a second. Calm down." Patrick says, sitting next to me. "What do you have so far?"

I opened my laptop back up, and showed him what I was writing. As his eyes scanned the page my fears worsened.

"It's terrible, isn't it? I'll just call Erica and tell her-"

"No, no. It's not that bad actually." He tells me.

"Really?" I look at him.

"Just a couple parts I'd edit." He tells me.

"Yeah..." I nod looking back at what I have.

"I just think you're taking this too personally by talking about the miscarriage in front of everybody." He says. "Brendon helped you a lot. He helped a lot of people."

"I know I know. My brain is scattered and I've freaking out. I don't know what to do."

He leans over and kisses my cheek.

"This is your speech and you're gonna do great." He says. "Do you know if anyone else is going to be speaking?"

"Um Erica is. I don't know if anybody's is."

"You'll be fine." He tells me. I wasn't too sure.

Erica's POV

"How's the speech coming along?" Pete asks, walking over with a cup in hand to peek over my shoulder at the laptop.

"I can barely think." I tell him. "There's so much I could say but I don't want to get into it."

I look at him now, as he takes a drink. I give him a small smile.

"There's a smile. I'm glad to see you finally smile."

"It hasn't been easy." I say, as he nods.

"It hasn't been for any of us."

Pete walks away, as Sarah came into the room. Him and I took notice.

"Hey, how are you doing?" I ask her, as she tries to give me a small smile. It's been a few days.

"Thank you for staying." She says.

"Of course. It's been hard for everyone."

"We all need each other right now." Pete adds, as she nods.

"Thank you for understanding... for not wanting to speak. I just don't think I can." She tells me.

"I don't think I would be able to either if I were in your shoes."

She nods.

"He had the opportunity to do what he wanted. Not many people get that. And in the end, people will remember him." I added.
