It was about seven hours later, that I began to feel the warm sunlight dancing on my skin. I realized that Graham was carrying me over his shoulder. I smiled evilly as the perfect idea to scare the shit out of him entered my mind.

“BOO, BITCH!” I yelled in his ear. He screamed and as a result of pure instinct, he threw his hands in the air, throwing me to the ground, and causing me to land on my ass.

“Icelynn! What the hell?!” He yelled. “We need to be quiet so those orderlies from Watergate don’t find us!”

“Whatever,” I shrugged and rose, smiling evilly again. “It was still worth it.”

“Then I’m happy you fell.” He smirked and I pouted. “And also, Jimmy’s right here.”

“Oh, right, sorry.” I said. Jimmy stares at us in utter disbelief. “Wait for it…” I telepathically said to Gray. Graham continued aloud, after acknowledging my recent statement.

“You can’t just curse right in front of him.” He leaned closer to me, and began to whisper, just loud enough for Jimmy and myself to hear. “He’s still a kid. I don’t want him picking up that kind of thing.” Jimmy began to burn red, stilling staring at us in disbelief.

“Yeah, you’re right,” I continued whispering, “I don’t think it’s good for him to learn that just yet. Maybe if he was a bit older…” And that was it. Jimmy blew up.

“ARE YOU FREAKIN’ KIDDING ME?! I’M NOT A FUCKING KID! HOW THE HELL DO YOU NOT KNOW HOW TO CURSE WHEN YOU LIVE WITH SOMEONE LIKE GRAHAM?!” I looked to Graham, to see that he was in the same state that I was in. We both fought hard to not lose control and die of laughter. “AND WHILE YOU WERE WHISPERING, I COULD HEAR EVERY FRIGGIN’ WORD!” And that was it. Graham and I burst out laughing like hyenas. Jimmy’s powers came through a bit, and shook the ground. The ground shaking, and our laughter causing us to shake was obviously too much, because the two of us fell over, only causing us to erupt with more laughter. Jimmy’s face contorted in anger, but soon lost it. “I hate you guys.” He mumbled to himself. After wiping a few tears away from his eyes, Graham held out a hand for me to get up.

After a few minutes of walked something popped into my mind. I couldn’t place it, but this place seemed familiar. Not the trees and the rabbits, it was just the feeling, almost like déjà vu.

“Maybe you have been here.” Gray thought.

“Maybe… It reminds me of my grandfather’s-” And then I remembered. The reason I wanted to work in New Jersey. The reason I accepted this job in the first place. My grandfather used to live in New Jersey, and he had a small cabin in a forest clearing that no one knew about. But one day, he took me for a walk in that forest, and showed it to me. He told me that he had built it when he was young because he loved the forest. He would go there to think, to clear his mind. Without thinking, I ran forward, taking sharp turns, glancing back every now and then to see that Graham and Jimmy were following me. I noticed a fallen log in my way, and ran forward, placing a hand on its trunk and pushed my body to the side, jumping over the log sideways. I continued running and noticed the cliff. I heard Graham cry out for me to stop, but I remembered my grandfather’s words and riddles, and how important he said it was to “take a leap of faith” sometimes. I smiled at the fading memory, and ran over the cliff, knowing that it was a small one. I landed with a knee to the ground, in a crouch. When I raised my head, I heard Graham and Jimmy fall behind. I saw the log cabin, and it looked exactly like it had the last time I had been here, all those years ago.

The mahogany was perfect and the windows looked as if they had been cleaned yesterday. I walked into the cabin and saw that everything stayed same inside, too. The whole place was furnished, couches, beds, tables, and chairs. My grandfather, being the bookworm he was, even had a massive shelf that consisted of only books. It was a fairly large cabin; with a small kitchen, a bathroom, two small rooms, and the living room. We walked around, getting a good look at the place. There was a bit of dust everywhere, but we could take care of that later.

“This was your grandfather’s place?” Graham asked. I nodded.

“Yeah, he built the whole thing. We should stay here. It’s secluded; they won’t be able to find us here.” Graham nodded and walked away. The last time I was here was when I was 20, and in college. I think I left some clothes in one of the rooms. I walked into one of them, and because I wasn’t paying attention, I walked into Graham. “Oh, sorry.” I blushed, and noticed the blush that was slowing creeping onto his face and getting darker.

“Yeah, I wondering,” he scratched his neck, looking almost nervous. ”well, Jimmy, probably wanted his own room, and, y’know,” I laughed.

“I’d love to share the room with you, Graham.” He smiled shyly, and I told him that there were probably some clothes he use somewhere around here. He went to search for them, and I collapsed on the bed. It took all of my strength to escape that asylum of fear.

“Or fear asylum.” Graham’s voice popped into my head.

“Yeah, that’s it; fear asylum.” I smiled as he walked in. “I’m tired as fuck.”

“Same here. It’ll be nice to sleep on a normal bed for once.” I laughed as he fell onto the bed, and smiled at me. “Icelynn?”

“Mhmm?” I hummed; too busy staring into his mysterious hazel eyes.

“I... I think I love you.” He stared at me, and I beamed at him. I leaned forward and connected our lips briefly.

“I love you, too, Gray.” I smiled and we kissed again.

“Ahh!” I heard Jimmy scream, as I noticed he was at the door. “I did not need to see that!” He said covering his eyes. As I laughed, Gray threw a pillow at him, and told him to leave, to which Jimmy replied with a muttered “With pleasure.” I laughed again, and noticed the warm, full feeling that enveloped my body. Graham laughed with me, and I realized that I would love to spend the rest of my life like this; with Graham, and Jimmy, in seclusion, leading a quiet, happy life away from all of the lies and the conspiracies. I hope it lasts forever.

Aw, see?! It's a nice, happy last chapter. Which means a happy ending.

Oh. Wait. Looks like I forgot about the epilouge. Ok, yeah, I take that back. No, it's not a happy ending. It's probably one that will make you scream "NO. NO. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO."
