Chapter 8

"Billie is that you" Mike called as I walked through the door "Come in the office please," I put my bag down and went into the office "This letter was delivered for you," he handed me the letter. I recognised the writing, it was from my mum, I left the office and went upstairs and sat on my bed and slowly opened the letter.

Dear Billie

I know you probably don't want to speak to me and I understand that, for putting you up for adoption for letting you go, my mum (your grandma) told me not to do it she said that I would regret it and I do. If you have read my other letter you probably know I was only 15 when I had you and I had nobody your dad had left my dad (your Grandad) kicked me out my mum was the only one to stick by me, my own sister and brother wouldn't look at me. Putting you up for adoption was the hardest thing I ever had to do.

You have a brother by the way I know its a bit hard for me to tell you this but you have a 14 year old brother I had him when I was 16 I know what that sounds like but I didn't keep him either I also put him up for adoption because this time I really didn't have anyone.

I didn't know what to do rip it up or give her a chance, I looked down and putting my hand on my belly I remembered what my mum said she didn't have anyone and I didn't want to have nobody I picked up my phone and typed in the number. "Hello" I said.

"Hi, who is this?"

"It's Billie" I replied

"Billie, I can't believe you phoned"

"I phoned because I have something to tell you something but I can't tell you over the phone"

"Can we meet a costa in the town after you have finished school," she replied back.

"Yer that's fine I have to go do some homework bye"

"Bye" I hung up and went to the door to go downstairs to get my bag to get my homework when,

"BILLIE!" Mike yelled from downstairs. I walked into the office and sat down, "What are these?" Mike said holding up the pregnancy tests.

"There my mates, I said I would keep them because she doesn't want her mum finding out," I looked down hoping he would fall for it. "How did you find them any way?"

"They fell out your bag" Mike said sitting down next to me "Are you sure there not yours?" Mike said in a calmer tone. I shook my head starting to cry.

"There are mine," I said through tears Mike pulled me into a hug.

"Have you booked a scan yet?" I shook my head "I'll do it for you but first did you tell the father?"

"Yer, he said he would stick with me," Mike nodded and got up and dialled the number for the scanning place. "Please don't tell anyone," I said getting up and walking into the kitchen I got a drink and went back upstairs.

"Can I come in?" Johnny asked. I nodded letting him come and sit on my bed.

"So you and Kelly then?" I said winking

"No we're just friends and she said I could come and sit with you guys at lunch," I smiled knowing that he had a crush on Kelly.

"You know I'm not mad if you like Kelly or you and Kelly start dating," he pushed me and I pushed him back. He got up to leave, "So your not sitting with us a lunch tomorrow,"

"Oh no I am." And he left. Now to that homework I went over to my bag and got out my maths book and did the homework.

"Dinner!" May-Li called from downstairs. When I was downstairs a big waft of fish hit me I instantly felt sick I went and sat down next to Rick and Harry. May-Li had put the fish in front of me and had sat down and had started eating but I was kind of picking at it because A) I didn't like some kinds of fish B) I was pregnant so the fish smell made me fell sick. "Do you not like it Billie?" May-Li asked I shook my head "You should have told me, just eat the stuff around the fish," I nodded and started eating. After dinner we all went into the lounge to watch THE VOICE.

When we were about to get out the car to go to school he stopped me,

"I booked your scan its tomorrow morning at 12 so tell Jake, I talk more about it to you tonight but it's not a proper scan it just to make sure everything is ok with you so if Jake can't come he will not be missing much." I smiled and walked to tutor meeting Jake outside gave him a big hug and kissed him.

"I have a scan tomorrow," I told him

"Ok, what time?"

"12 but it doesn't matter if you come or not as it is just making sure I am pregnant," I replied

"Ok, did you tell your care worker?"

"Yer, well he found the tests so I had to tell him, so are you coming or not?"

"I'll come if I can I don't know if I can, I haven't told my mum yet I wanted to tell her together,"

"I'll write you a note to get you out of school and I'll give it to you tomorrow if you stop by before school because I'm not going in before 12." He nodded the bell rang so he went to his tutor.
