"Keith! Hurry over here!" Allura shouts. I put the flowers gently on the counter and run over to Allura, who has a bunch of dragon lilies in her arms.
"Grab twenty of those," She says and points to the daisies. She then walks to a big counter behind the main counter and starts to sort through the flowers, outing certain ones together.
Recently, Allura got back. Soon after, a lady requested we help do flowers for her wedding. We have until tomorrow morning to figure out what we want to do with the bouquet and the flowers around and on top of the alter and other places around the guests, etcetera. The idea with light pastel colors with a pop of orange here and there. So fare, the main flowers are roses and snapdragons, some dyed and some not. Allura has an idea for the bouquet and is trying to put it together to test it out and see what she needs to fix.
"Hey, grab me some of the light pink dragon lilies," She says and is trying to hold together the flowers she's put together. I quickly grab the dragon lilies and hand them to her. I then go back to my station and start to look at it from different views, looking to see how it might look on top of the alter. I nod and go to fix a few things and hear someone come in the door. The bell sounds and I look up to see Hunk.
"Hey, can I ask a favor?" He asks. I nod and try to carefully move the flowers to a counter behind me. I then move some petals and cut stems out of my way and lean on the counter.
"What can I do for ya'?" I ask.
"Lance and I and my family are going to have a booth at a festival next week, next Thursday to be exact. We wanted to have some floral designs to make our booth pop," He says and smiles.
"Oh, well, here, fill this out real quick," I say and reach to find a sheet of paper.
"What for?" He asks and I hand it to him.
"For either pick up or drop off and location and date, types of colors or flowers, all that crap," I say and hand him a pen as well. He takes both and fills the sheet out.
"Here," He says and hands it back after a minute. I take it and skim it then set it next to me.
"So where's this event?" I ask.
"Oh, we're hosting it at Lance's. You know where he lives, right?" He asks. I nod and look down.
"His family has a pretty big yard and back driveway," He says, and I give him a weird look.
"What?" He asks and cocks his head to the side.
"N-nothing," I say and look back down. I guess he doesn't know.
  "Okay..." He trails.
"How many booths will be set up there?" I ask, trying to get that off my mind.
"Maybe twenty," He says, pushing his hands into his sweatpants pockets.
"Wow, okay. Is it just local bakeries and sweet shops?" I ask.
"Yeah, even some bread places. There will be a few booths with just local people who don't have shops, but want to," He adds. I nod.
"Well, I've got to get back to the shop. My dad said he wanted me back soon to help him with a cake we have to have done by tonight," He says and look up at the clock behind me.
"Oh, okay. I'll guess I'll see you later," I say.
"Alright. See ya', Keith," He says and walks to the door. The bell sounds and stops as the door shuts.
  "Who was that?" Allura asks.
"Just one of my friends. He's needing some flowers for some event next week," I say.
"Oh," She says and stands next to me. I shift and turn my back to he counter. I then push myself up onto the counter and swing my feet lightly.
"I think we're basically done. We just have to test it again tomorrow morning before it all starts and being extra stuff with us," She says. "We'll have to get there around six. It's about an hour from here."
"So meet here at five?" I ask.
"Yeah, four-thirty, five," She says and starts to clean stuff up.
"You can go ahead and head home. You'll get your pay on the third, so keep up the good work," She says.
"Okay," I say and stand up. I take off my apron that ties around my waist and set it on the counter. I make sure everything is in it, then hang it on a hook with my name. I look down at my dirty hands and head to the sink. I quickly wash and dry them, then head for the door, grabbing my jacket from the coat rack by the door as I leave.
"I'll see you tomorrow," I say and walk out. I then slip on my jacket and walk down the street to my apartment.
