The man who injured himself hasn't sued yet. He challenged me to a duel instead. He's very mad.
I don't know who his second is, but Charlotte is mine. I hope she's good at persuasion, I don't want to die at 17.
If the issue is not settled, Charlotte and the man's second will confirm a time and place...

Guess who has to prepare dueling pistols for tomorrow. Moving here was a mistake.
I will not apologize, it was not my fault, this man is fucking stupid.
I plan to delope. I wish no harm on this man. I will shoot just above his shoulder so it looks like I missed; no one will know, I will not be considered a coward or dishonorable. Hooray.

My plan worked and he shot me in the arm. The bullet simply grazed my right arm, but it hurts. It hurts a lot. I'm glad I'm left handed; I wouldn't be writing this otherwise.
Now I have to get this coat patched and keep this wound from getting infected. At least he was satisfied after the first shot hit me. At least I'm not laying in a hospital because he decided on a duel to the death... I still say moving here was a mistake.
