"What the hell made us think we could carry this furniture inside by ourselves?" Arielle asked, as we stood in our walkway, panting over a couch we had gotten about 2 feet before having to put it down.
"I don't know but whatever it was, fuck that idea," I said.
"Is there a such thing as super attractive neighbors that help you move all your heavy shit into your house in England or is that a strictly American thing?"
"Apparently it's just an American thing."
"Maybe our neighbors would help us, but they're like world famous popstars and are on tour and that's why they can't help us."
"Are you trying to dream up One Direction being our neighbors?"
"Let me dream damn it!"
"You can dream when we get this couch inside!"
We grabbed hold of the couch and lifted it. It took us around another 30 minutes to get the couch inside. Then I brought some boxes up to my bedroom.
"Samantha!" I heard Arielle yell from outside and I ran down the stairs and out the front door.
She was struggling carrying a box that I was sure held my old Disney movies. I grabbed the box from her and carried inside.
"What a weakling!" I said.
"Yeah, yeah, yeah!"
When we had everything moved inside, we sat down on the couch.
"I need a bitch beer," she said.
"You know what the best part about living in England is?"
"What's that?"
"You can have that bitch beer. You could even have that bitch beer, in a bar."
"Oh damn, let's get ready and party it up."
We got off the couch and went to our rooms to get dressed.
After about an hour, we were ready to go out. It wasn't until we were about 3 blocks away from our house that we realized we had no idea where we were going.
"To Google!" I yelled as I pulled my phone from my bag.
I found the nearest drinking establishment, which happened to be a club and we walked the few blocks it took to get there.
"Oh man this place is full," I said as we went inside.
"Why were there so many damn paparazzi outside too?"
"Who knows? Maybe someone who matters is here."
"Maybe it's One Direction!" she said as I rolled my eyes and we walked over to the bar.
We got our drinks and looked around the club.
"What would you even do if you met them? You'd probably just start to cry and run away," I said.
"I would marry Niall, that's what I'd do."
I laughed, "And what would your plan of action be? Kidnap him and keep him locked away in your closet until he agrees to marry you and never leave?"
"Something along those lines yeah. What would you do?"
"I wouldn't do anything," I laughed.
"You're telling me if you had a chance to sleep with Liam you wouldn't take it?"
"Liam has a girlfriend."
"Not according to Twitterrrrrr," she smiled, shaking her phone at me.
"Oh really now? Because Twitter never lies right?"
"Nope, never."
After a little while, two guys came up to us and asked us to dance, I politely declined, but Arielle accepted and went off to dance.
"Someone's looking at you from up there," the girl next to me said, pointing up the the VIP Lounge.
I looked up where she was pointing, she was right. There was a guy up there looking right down at me. I couldn't make out who it was though.
After another couple of beers, I decided it was time to go home. I paid the bartender and moved through the crowd to get Arielle.
"Hey, I want to go home," I said as I reached her.
"Alright," she nodded, "I'll meet you outside in a couple of minutes."
I nodded and left the club. It had gotten chilly outside. I stood there, moving my weight from one foot to another as I lit my cigarette. I rubbed my arm with my free hand.
"Cold?" a voice behind me said.
"Yeah," I said, taking my father's advice and simply not turning around.
I jumped slightly as a jacket was placed around my shoulders. I looked to my left, where I felt the person standing next to me. It was dark, and I couldn't fully tell who it was. But something about him felt extremely familiar, just his facial structure looked familiar.
"Thanks," I said.
"You're welcome love," even his voice sounded familiar.
"Okay let's go I'm drunk," Arielle stumbled past me and started to walk.
"Here you go," I said, trying to hand the jacket back to the person.
"Keep it, for now. It'll give me an excuse to see you again."
I laughed, "And how do you plan on finding me?"
"I left my phone number in the pocket, text me," he said, I could hear the smile in his voice, even if I couldn't really see it.
"Well, thank you again," I said, turning to leave.
"You're welcome," he called after me as I ran to catch up with Arielle.
I put the jacket on properly once I caught up with her.
Of course, we ended up getting lost on the way home, and it took us an extra 40 minutes to get back home.
And once we did, I found that my dad had finally gotten my phone shut off. It was too expensive for him to keep my phone on while I lived out here while having an American number, so tomorrow I was going to have to go buy myself a new phone and get a number here and pay for the international plan so I could still talk to my family.
I laid in bed after I undressed down to just a sports bra and underwear and looked across the dark room at where I set the jacket before closing my eyes and drifting off to sleep.
