“Are you sure about this? I mean we should really come with you.” Jake asked me for the ten thousandth time. I sort of found it cute though with his forehead wrinkled, gray eyes filled with worry.
I surpressed a smile.
“Yep, I’m pretty sure Jake and no like I said, I can handle this” I said taking his hand.
He sighed then smiled a tiny bit.
Ellie attacked me in a hug. “Just remember…don’t be afraid to back out.” She reminded me, looking at me intently.
I hugged her back, trying to look convincing when I said. “Of course.”
When I know I can’t, not with the price I have to pay if I back out.
“But she won’t need it. Good luck Liza, damn I wish I could be there.” Aya said hugging me too.
We made up this morning with Jake dragging her in my bedroom and telling her to apologize, Aya was more than willign to do it and to be honest that was nothing to me now. I sort of find it petty now actually. That I got mad for suck a stupid matter.
Ted was the last to say goodbye. “I think I trained and thought you everything that I know so I have nothing more to say.” He said smiling through his big glasses.
I rolled my eyes. “Of course you did Ted, you’re the best sensei ever.” I joked.
I waved goodbye seeing them with solemn but yet encouraging faces. I chuckled at the expressions.
“Guys, cheer up! You look like I’m about to join the army or something like really lighten up a little.” I said, my hand on the door.
“Well we were suppose to be in this together but, but now….” Ellie trailed off.
I shook my head. “We still are don’t worry, you’re all in here.” I said placing my hand in my heart.
Ted laughed. “Getting cheesy there Liz.” He mused.
I smiled rolling my eyes. I expect Jake to say something or tell something stupid like Ted did but he didn’t…he just stood there quietly looking at me.
I held his gaze for a while before I looked I way.
“Ohhhkay, this is it bye guys…I’ll see you later.”
I went out of the building taking a deep breathe. New York was busy as usual the people coming and going minding their own business and cars barely moving I was actually getting use to all this craziness. Of course the city still never cease to amaze me, it’s just now I feel more like… I belong.
I took out my phone, looking at the location Sarah texted that we’ll meet again as I try to hail a cab. Key word try. It was almost impossible, I never actually had to ride a cab here or at least call for it myself. It’s either we have a car with us…or Jake was the one doing the this, he uses this whistling voodoo whatever you call it that probably speaks cab driver.
Another one of the damn yellow things with wheels passed me, I cursed under my breathe.
“Well this is freaking great.” I murmured.
“Well you really can’t call a taxi like that.” Someone said behind me.
I looked to my left and glared at that person. I was sort of taken aback from his apperance. He was wearing sunglasses with his golden brown hair covered by his hat, bright smile in his face. I haven’t seen the guy ever before but I was pretty sure he was making fun of me.
“And who are you exactly?” I said raising a brow
“I am someone that’s name is not important.”
