Geovanie Williams is the son of my dad's boss, who is also my dad's best friend and practically my uncle. Geo, which he preferred to be called, was shipped off to boarding when we were all in 6th grade. When he left, he was a tall, lanky, scrawny looking kid, but now he is a Greek God.

For the rest of the day, I had to sit through classes and listen to all of the girls gush over how hot Geo is. Sure, I won't deny it, Geo is one good looking specimen, but you don't need to talk about him like he's the last living male on Earth!

I was just glad when school was over, and I could go home and sleep. I walk out of the school with Peter and Vangie. Before getting in my car, I wave by to both of them, and head on down the road. I turn on my music, and just let myself stay in my thoughts.

I turn down our private dirt road, and wait till the giant house comes into view. I pull into my usual parking spot, and hop out. I go to unlock the door, but realize it's unlocked.

'That's odd. We usually only leave it unlocked if someone is home and Luca's car isn't outside.'

I open the door, clanging pots and pans drawing me to the kitchen. I walk in to see Mom bustling around the kitchen preparing food. She looks up to see me standing in the doorway, and gives me a soft smile. "You're home early, is Dad also home?" I ask Mom.

"Well, Ethan and his family are coming over for dinner, sort of a welcome home dinner for Geo. And yes, your father is home also. He should be in his office." I groan at the name Geo, having had heard it too many times today.

Not that I'm complaining that Uncle Ethan and Aunt Amanda, Geo's parents, are coming over.

"Do I have to dress up?" I ask. "No, you look fine just how you are." I smile, glad I don't have to change.

"Where's Luca? He's usually home before me," I ask while taking a seat on one of the stools at the island. "I sent him to get a few things for tonight, but knowing him he's just going to get a bunch of junk food," Mom says with a sigh while stirring something in the pot. I snort, "You got that right."

"What are my two favorite girls doing in here?" Dad asks as he walks in. "Just cooking and talking, oh do you know what time they're coming tonight?" Mom asks while giving Dad a kiss.

"Yeah, Ethan says they're gonna try and leave the house by 5 so probably around 5:30." Mom nods and goes back to cooking.

"So, how was the first day of school?" Dad asks turning towards me. "It was ok. Vangie and Peter were the only ones there today. Apparently Piper is coming home from vacation tonight, and Jesse is still at his camp thing." Dad nods. "How about on Friday we have a bonfire and you can invite all of those trouble making friends of yours," Dad says with a smile. "Sure, I'll ask if they're free."

Shortly after, Luca walks in with his hands full of groceries, and puts them on the counter. Mom looks through them, making sure he got everything. "I'm impressed, you got everything I asked for," Mom says while placing some of the items in the fridge. "Does that mean I get a reward?" Luca asks with hopeful eyes.

"You will not be getting more money." His face falls, and I laugh at him, causing him to glare at me. I shrug, and turn my attention back to Mom.

It's almost 5:30, and Mom is running around like a chicken with it's head cut off.
