Summary:
This is the story of mankind clawing for survival, of mankind on the edge. The world outside has grown unkind, the view of it limited, talk of it forbidden. But there are always those who hope, who dream. These are the dangerous people, the residents who infect others with their optimism. Their punishment is simple. They are given the very thing they profess to want: They are allowed outside.

Star Rating: ⚫⚫⚫◾
I will start this review off with it being in parts by reviewing the different parts in this book. Then doing an overall review for the book as whole.

The review of each part will be talking about the characters not the plot because of spoilers.

Part 1 Holston:  The story starts out with a man that holds the position of sheriff in the silo.  Then it goes through to tell about the man and his's wife finding out secrets. Seeing as that was the past it is three years later and he still dealing with the pain. The insight you get truly does make the reader feel for Holston and his's wife. Towards the end of this part the workings of the silo are shown.

Part 2 Proper Gauge: Certain things happened at the end of Part 1 to led to our new narrator Jahns the mayor. In her trek into below the silo jahns recounts her younger days. The ways in which her days are numbered and times are changing. She is making this journey with Marnes. She and him feel a connection of longing for each other steadily grows. Which makes the ending of Part 2 kind of heart breaking and angry enough to hurt Bernard.

Part 3 Casting Off: Jules has just become came sheriff of the silo. She is left dealing with the aftermath of Jahns and Holtons. She found out more things about the silo to make her seek out the help of Scottie. Her seeking out scottie leads to the mess of Part 4.

Part 4 The Unraveling: Jules is left figuring out how to survive. The people of the silo in mechanical don't know what to do after the aftermath of Jules cleaning. Then an uprising is started to fight against the silo and it's lies.

Part 5 The Stranded: In Part 5 the reader sees the point of view of mostly Lukas and Jules. The pain Jules goes through to survive and Lukas learning from Bernard but also becoming his own person.

Overall: Wool is set in silo full of lies because everyone is afraid of the outside but people want to know the outside. Fear factored into each of the characters point of views. Learning the silo secrets are slow coming. The characters hardships are what truly makes the story. The idea of being stuck somewhere without an out shows how human behave. The uprisings were to show that. The author ultimately falls short with the wow factor of some of the twist and turns of this book. Rating: 3 1\2 stars
