"Oh, Gray." I say with my hands over my mouth.
"Is that a yes, Sunshine?"
"Obviously! Yes Grayson, yes!" I jump up and wrap my legs around his waist and my arms around his neck.
"Is this what you call hug?" He laughed. All I could do was laugh in response.
After school that day we went back to his place.
"You have your own house?" I asked.
He nodded.
"You're only 16!" I shout.
"My parents kind of wanted me off at an early age..." he mumbled.
I frowned, "Sorry I asked..."
"Forget about it." He said sternly.
He bent low to stick a movie into the DVD player.
"What are we watching?" I asked.
"Poltergeist." He said with a smirk.
"How creative," I said sarcastically, "you invite a girl over and get her all scared so she'll snuggle into you! Too bad for you I love horror!"

When the movie ended it was past midnight.

"Sunshine, wake up. Sunshine." Grayson gently shook me.

"Oh, it must be late! I have to get home!" I exclaimed.

"Let me drive you home." Grayson helped me off the couch.

"NO!" I boomed suddenly.

"Why not?"

"I can.... take myself...." Truth was I didn't want him to see that my home was actually a shed.

Grayson laughed loudly. "Why are you being so defensive, Sunshine? It's not like you're living in some old shed!"
He laughed without realizing what this really meant in my situation.

I was silent. But he looked at me blankly and said, "Wait. Payton. Please don't tell me..." his voice went distant. "You're staying with me tonight. And every other night after that."

"Grayson...." I wanted to deny his offer. "Thank you so much..."

He wrapped his arms around me and whispered into my ear, "I'm not letting go this time, Sunshine."
