"There's a million reasons why I should give you up, but the heart wants what it wants."

- Selena Gomez

I ran out the cafeteria to find Lily.

How could Adilyn be so mean and encourage something so hateful towards someone like that. I always helped Addie when she was the one getting bullied, but now she was the bully. I guess the tables turn pretty quickly when people change for the worse.

I ran down the hallways, pushing aside everyone in my way and found Lily outside by the football field, crying. She was a spitting image of Addie when she was getting bullied by some mean girls in Middle School. I always seemed to cheer her up somehow, but isn't that what best friends are for?

"I'm sorry for what Adilyn and Alissa said, she shouldn't have been so mean," I said taking a seat next to Lily, wrapping my arm around her shoulders as she cried into my chest, wetting my white top with her tears.

She smiled, the smile that made my heart flutter. Lily was different from the rest of the girls I've met.

"You don't have to apologise for Adilyn," she said smiling through her glassy like eyes. She is beautiful — actually that was an understatement of her beauty.

"Yes I do, she encouraged something I'm totally against, she knows that she shouldn't have, I know, but she still did it. It's her fault, not yours, Lils," I said honestly, Lily has never done anything wrong to Addie, yet her and Alissa are just randomly attacking her in front of everyone.

"Thank you Neels, for everything."

"Hey Lily, do you want a ride home?" I asked as the bell rang, signalling the end of the day.

"If that's okay with you I guess," she said.

"Hop in," I said opening the door for her.

"Thank you, sir Neels," she said smiling brightly while a small giggle escaped her lips.

I hopped in, and with that we were off, forgetting everything that happened the following hours.

What a hell of a day, right?

Finally, the end of the day. Today must be the worst day of my entire high school career. I really hope Neels apologises, so we can go back to normal.

I made my way outside to the front of the school and waited for Neels to come out and drive me home, like he said he would this morning.

Five minutes passed and I looked around for Neels' car in the car park.

I wished I didn't even look.

I saw Neels and Lily. They looked at each other, happily and kinda lovey-dovey— like they were in a some romance film.
