California 1998
Rose, a four-year old girl woke up from a nightmare. She shift herself from her bed as her tiny feet led her to her parents' room
"Mom.."
And her mother flip to the right, didn't open her eyes. "Daddy?" Rose flee to her father.
"What's wrong?" he groaned and scratched his head
Rose went closer, "I had a nightmare. Can I sleep with you two?"
"Sure, I guess mom doesn't mind" and she hopped to the bed
Her dad stroked her hair. "What did you dream about?"
She closed her eyes, "That a lot of dracs attack me, Dad"
"Don't worry dear, they wouldn't hurt you. You will be o-"
B o o m
A gunshot was heard and a woman's shrieked followed
Rose's parents got up from the bed. Her mom carried Rose as a gunshot was heard again. So did a window break.
"I'm scared" Rose cried
Her mom covered her eyes as her dad was shot
Everything was messed up. She remembered she fell cause her mother was shot as well.
She ran and ran. Away from the gun shots, draculoids, and detonations. She didn't know where to go. She just ran. Hid behind a wall. Untill a lone drac point his gun to her forehead.
Rose only cried. A gunshot was heard. She was okay. But the drac fell down which made her even scared.
"Hey, Little Girl. Don't worry...." a man's voice was heard
She whimpered, "Stay away from me"
"I won't hurt you.. I was the one who shot the drac. You'll be saver with me" the man lent his hand
Slowly and with hesitation, she took it and walked with him.
"Tell me your name, Girl.." he told her
"Rose"
"Hmm.."
"Can I trust you? Are you one of the bad guys?" she asked shyly
The man carried her. "I am a good guy. Call me Dr. Death Defying. Or.. Dr. Death for short. Or even Dr. D"
Rose yawned, "Alright Dr D"
And untill then, Rose stayed with Dr D. She grew up with him and he trained her to be a Killjoy in the future
