"So I'm expected to just stay here?" Ryo questioned as a doctor scrambled around him. He was still stuck to a chair, and his legs had just fallen asleep.
"Yes. Just until we have everything we need."
"And what about Genesis?"
"The project will go on as we planned."
"The girl." Ryo snapped. The doctor went silent. "What's going to happen to her?!" Ryo started to struggle against his restraints. "What are you going to do to her?!!" Ryo screamed.
"She will be taken care of. There's no need to cause a fuss." The doctor spoke up.
"Taken care of?! What are you going to do to her!?" Ryo hated being restrained, he wanted to punch the sly smile off the doctor. He wanted to get out of here. He wanted to save Genesis from this hell.
The doctor quickly left, locking the door behind him. Ryo was bruised and beaten, but that wouldn't stop him from finding a way to escape.

Genesis found herself back in her familiar room. The holographic window on the wall was turned off and the bright lights had been switched on above.

The doctor turned towards Mr. Abbott and whispered to him. "We have everything." Was the only thing she could make out before the doctor nodded turned towards Genesis.

"Thank you for your participation Miss Abbott." He bowed his head before leaving. Genesis scooted off the exam table.

"What happens now? I assume you won't just let me go. And what if there is the chance this fails?" She questioned.

"I can assure you it won't fail Genesis." Mr. Abbott smiled. "We've been testing it since you were brought back here."

"Then why did you need to make sure I could control the reapers?"

"We weren't sure if you still could, we had never tested an absence from the subject."

"So that brings me back to what now?"

"Genesis, did you know that when you were born, you were like an exact copy of your mother. Growing up I could see it still too. Everything you did reminded me of her. Even after her... death, after I had figured out you weren't my child. I still thought of you as my daughter. And when she started this project, she had you in mind. She always said that this would be the way to ensure your future. To live in a world at peace. She came from the wasteland, she showed up one day to Glenn. Covered in dirt and grime. It was at that moment I had fallen for her. I thought that wastelanders couldn't possibly be so bad. But I was wrong. All we ever heard was news of them attacking cities, killing innocents. Even your mother said they were monsters-"

"Not all of them are."

"Most of them. They're all the same. They lie. They cheat. They steal. They think life is a game. Love doesn't mean anything to them. I've learned this Genesis! I've seen what they do! Your mother started this project with a simple mind. To put all the forces of the cities together to create a place where everyone is at peace. A Utopia!" Mr. Abbott scoffed. "But once she was gone, I took it a step farther. For there can't be a Utopia when they are around! If they plague the world, we are not safe! Project Genesis was a new beginning, originally for everyone, but now it's only for those that deserve it!"

"I don't think you deserve it."

Mr. Abbott took a deep breath in. "Your mother named the project with you in mind! Not me! Not anyone else! She wanted a world where her bastard child could be happy! Not her husband, not her family! Just a single child who wasn't even mine!"

Genesis took a step backwards and pressed herself against an exam table.

"The world I envision is for everyone who deserves it! Those who don't cheat! Don't lie or steal! It's for those who earn it! And everyone else can be shredded to pieces for all I care! Every last one of those wastelanders you call your friends!"
