Amy Farrington:
“The truth is, Amy, I’m madly truly deeply in love you, and I couldn’t live another day of my life without you. So I have just one question to ask you. Amy Farrington, will you marry me?”
“Yes, Niall I will marry you.”
That moment was perfect. That was the perfect I was always striving for, but as we all know perfection doesn’t last for too long. It comes and it goes as fast as the speed of light.
I woke up lying on someone’s chest with an arm draped around me. It held me close, and I knew without a doubt, he didn’t want me to leave again.
For a second, I took in my surrounding trying to process things in my mind. I had no idea where I was. I woke up thinking I was still in Los Angeles sleeping in my warm bed. At first, I was terrified that I had been abducted last night, but then I remember where I was.
“You know, for a second, I was scared. I had no idea where I was going to stay tonight.”
“Well babe, you could stay with me, but it’s going to cost you,” he said smirking mischievously.
“Nah, just put it on my bill.” I said in response as I pulled him back into another kiss.
“You know, Amy, you could just stay out here. I mean, you don’t seem to mind the sand. It’s pretty comfy out here.” He said as he pulled away.
“Shut up, I’m staying with you whether you like it or not.”
“Good, that’s how I want it to be. Forever.” He said as he kissed me again, helped me up, and then led me to the pub.
Niall confessed his love for me. He proposed to me. I was beyond happy, and for a moment, I just laid there with my hand on his bare chest observing the ring on my finger. It was a lot smaller than the one that Connor had given me only two weeks ago. But the size wasn’t important. This one was perfect.
Suddenly, I felt Niall tighten the hold he had on me, and I felt his lips on my forehead.
“Good morning, love.” I smiled at the sound of those words leaving his mouth.
“Good morning, Niall.”
“How’d you sleep?”
“Better than I have in the past week. You know, I could get used to this.” I responded to his question truthfully.
“Used to what?”
“Waking up to you each morning.”
“Me too,” he responded with a huge smile.
“So what’s in store for today? What’s the plan?” I asked as I was unsure of what I was going to do here while he worked.
“Well believe it or not, I was heading to Dublin today. They took my car over there to check on it. Some crazy lady pushed it into a hole and some parts were damaged in the process.”
“Shut up! I am not crazy. And I didn’t push it; it drove away, because you didn’t put the parking brake on it.”
“Yeah sure, blame it on me. Okay well, I’m heading over there, if you’d like to join me.”
“Of course, I want to join you. Why wouldn’t I?”
“I don't know.”
“How are you even getting there with no car, Mr. Taxi driver?” I asked curious as to how he was getting there.
“James is taking me to the station.”
"Oh, okay. Just wondering if you were going to walk or something, but now I see you're not."
“Yeah; speaking of which, how did you get here?”
“What do you mean?” I questioned, but figured he was wondering how I got to Crookhaven. I figured the best way to get there without him knowing was by going to exact same way as the first time. I had called ahead before and I learned that just about everyone said they would drive me there only after they called him for whatever reason. I had no idea why that made any sense, but I guess to them that was the only way that they would take me.
“I mean, exactly that. How did you get here? No one let me know they were coming. Everyone always calls my pub to find out how to get here.” He explained answering my unasked question.
“Right, well, I didn’t want anyone to call you and they were going to, so I just decided it would be best to come around the same way that I did the first time.”
“Okay. So you’re staying then?”
“Well, I honestly didn’t know if you even wanted to see me, so I didn’t bring much with me, so I really only have enough clothes for two more days after today.”
“Why wouldn’t I want to see you? And don’t worry about that, you could always borrow something of mine.”
“Yeah? Cool, but I do need to go back in two days. I’ve got things I need to take care of back home. And well, I thought you wouldn’t want to see me cause you didn’t even say goodbye the last time I saw you. You just disappeared. To be honest, it hurt that you left without saying good bye. And so I thought that if you didn’t care enough to say bye, then you probably wouldn’t want to ever see me again, but I took a chance and showed up anyway.” I saw him sigh as I explained myself. I wasn’t sure why. I was hoping he would tell me why he left. In all honesty, I feel like I would have done the same thing but I would probably feel terrible about it and go back.
“Well I, ” he began to say but paused and looked up at me. “I left because I couldn’t stand seeing you with Connor.”
“I’m sorry he showed up.”
“Yeah,” he said in merely a whisper.
“No seriously, I am. We were in the middle of something and I hadn’t expected him to show up like he did, and for that, I am truly sorry.”
“Its fine now,” he said as he looked me in the eyes. “Now let’s go.”
“Is it time already for another Dublin adventure?” I said with a smile and got up to get ready.
