Chapter three:
Broken Friendship:
"Holy shit!!! Aly I'm am going to kill you!! What did you tell him?!" I asked my best friend.
Nathaniel Camel. The epitome of 'the boy next door, and he was my neighbor. Although I haven't seen him in eight years, I still got butterflies thinking about his name. He moved away when we were nine years old. We had a short romance before he left. I can still remember our first kiss.
"I didn't tell him anything...yet. We're meeting tomorrow at Starbucks" she said like it was no problem.
"You're not going. You're not telling him anything and you're going to listen to me and when did he come back anyways?" I commanded. Then I smelled something. The brownies!!
"Hold that thought, Aly" I said putting the oven glove on my hand. I opened the oven and took the brownies out. Phew!! Took it out just in time.
"Okay, speak" I said taking the glove off.
"Listen, H. You and Nathaniel have waited long enough. You liked him since the first time you saw him at school. You had to break up eight years ago and I think it's time to rekindle your flame. Oh and he got back the beginning of Summer break" she said giggling.
"Alyssa!" I whined "What makes you think he still feels the same as he did eight years ago. Please don't do anything stupid" I begged.
"I come in peace, H. You know I would only do this if I knew it was good for you. Now I am going tomorrow whether you like it or not. If we end this friendship, at least you'll have a boyfriend"
"Aly, I am giving you a fair chance. If you go tomorrow I will never forgive you. Please I'm begging you. He's going to think I'm some kinda weirdo that asked my best friend to hook me up"
"Do whatever you want, Harley Davidson. But if I have to risk our friendship for your happiness then so be it" she said sniffing and I couldn't help but smile at the nick name she called me.
"We are no longer friends. Goodbye" I said hanging up.
I knew that I was being a bit unfair but, in my defence, she shouldn't be toying with my love life. Nathaniel probably doesn't even remember me. It's been eight Kong years and I moved on, I think.
