Sam and Elmer walked out the shop with Sam very pleased with themselves. Sam adored their new earrings. They always wanted to get some earrings but they were just too lazy to actually go get them. They were exicted to show Izumrud.
"Really? Dolphins?" Elmer asked slightly embarrassed.
"What's wrong with dolphins?" Sam asked slightly offended by the question.
"There's nothing wrong with dolphins..." Elmer sighed. "Just....Dolphins? ....The cats were much more cute!"
"If you thought they were so cute, then why didn't you get them?"
"Me? Needles? Bruh, you've lost your mind." Elmer laughed slightly. "I could never do needles, you see these ears..." Elmer wiggled his ears. "These...are delicate."
"Riiiiight." Sam rolled their eyes.
"Anyways, wanna go check on Iz? The gas station is nearby." Elmer suggested.
"Isn't he off today?"
"No. He should be there."
"Well okay..." Sam and Elmer walked into the store. Sure enough Izumrud was behind the counter ringing up a lady who was buying some snacks it seemed.
Izumrud bobbed his head a little. For the people who don't know it might just seem like a nod, but for the three it was a sign they created. It meant something. It didn't have a certain meaning...it was just....a sign.
Till Izumrud was free Sam and Elmer looked around the store inspecting the items. Now that Sam was looking at food, they realized they really were hungry. They grabbed a random bag of chips and a soda then went to stand in line at the register. Luckily the women had just finished and was grabbing her things. Sam put their items on the counter.
"Nice earrings Sam." Izumrud said looking at their new dolphin earrings.
"Thank you!" Same said happily. "At least somebody likes them. Elmer!"
"I didn't say I don't like them!" Elmer shouted from across the store. "The cat's just looked cuter!"
"Say whatever, Elmer." Sam said pushing their items towards Izumrud. "Your arm all good now?"
Izumrud rolled his shoulder and smiled. "For the most part! Hurts a bit but that's fine."
Izumrud had hurt his arm during an accident when he was driving his family's motorcycle . He was driving on it when something suddenly crashed into him. People say it was a deer or an animal like that. Luckily it was just his arm that needed attention.
"That's a relief," Sam said.
Elmer came up with his own items. He placed his items along with Sam's. "You got this right, Sam?"
"I'm not paying for you!" Sam said scooting Elmer's items out of the way.
"I paid for your earrings." Elmer pointed out. "You owe me now."
Sam knew Elmer was right. But sadly, they didn't have any money. Only thankfully enough for his own goods. "You know I have barely any money...I'll make it up later. I promise."
"That's what you always say...." Izumrud mumbled.
"I heard that!" Sam said turning their head towards Izumrud who was faking complete innocence. It was true Sam wasn't the best at keeping promises, but they did go through with a good handful.
"Get a job." Elmer groaned.
