This Town

     Sam could barely sleep that night. They couldn't stop thinking about Elmer and what had happened. How could people be so cruel? To do such a horrible thing, Sam couldn't imagine it. It seemed to take hours for Elmer to convince Izumrud that he was alright and that he could sleep. Sam looked over at Elmer's bed. It seemed like he was sleeping peacefully. There was a steady rise and fall of Elmer's chest. But Sam knew Elmer better then that, better then anybody in fact. Elmer was a perfect actor. Able to portray any emotion at any time with flawless victory. Combined with the fact that Elmer's back was turned towards Sam, Sam had a pretty good idea.

     "Elmer," Sam said quietly.

      No response.

     "Elmer," Sam said more sternly.

     Still no response.

     Sam grumbled a little. "Elmer I know you're not asleep."

     Sam heard Elmer give a little sigh. Elmer turned his head to face Sam, he smiled a small smile and said, "I can't get anything past you can I?"

     "No, no you cannot. Plus, I can't sleep either. And I highly doubt Iz is either."

     "Really? Iz?" Elmer said amused. "He sleeps like a rock."

     "Okay Elmer. ONE." Sam started, "You're just as bad. Even worse actually." Sam ignored the "Ouch" that jokily came from Elmer. "SECONDLY, how can you joke after something like this that's happened?"

     Elmer turned his body so his back was on the bed. "I mean, there's no point in sulking over it."

     "So you're not gonna do anything about it?"

     "Nope." Elmer said rolling back so that his back was towards Sam again.

      "You have to tell somebody! What about your professor?" Sam couldn't believe what they were hearing.

     "You and Iz already know. And mostly likely Iz is gonna tell Sarah, so she'll know too. " Elmer replied. "And about my professor. What is he gonna do?"

     "Talk to the people? Expel them? Make them pay? He was to do something! You have class tomorrow too. What are you gonna say when they ask about it? They probably know it's no work accident."

     "Why are you worrying about it so much?"

     "Because you're my brother!"

     There was no response from Elmer.

     "And I know Iz cares about you the same. He'd do the same for you." Sam gave a little pause incase Elmer wanted to say anything. Nothing. "And I know for sure you'd do the same for both of us."

     There was no response from either of the two. Sam wasn't sure if they was okay with that. They noticed again the rise and fall of Elmer's chest. But this time, Sam knew for sure it was real.

heheheheh, man... It's been a while... half a year it seems. Lot's of stuff has happened...

These are characters i don't want to forget. So i want to keep this story going... Who knows... I might even make a webtoon of it ;)
