The Meaning Of Pain

Chapter 9- College

I awake with flashing lights everywhere. I can hardly see anything. There is about a million faces above my head that I can see. Landon. Laura. Gareth. Gavin. Kayla. Christian.

"Your ok!" Kayla said worryingly. "We were so worried!" She gives my cheek a quick peck and smiles. Landon and Christian both pat my shoulder and walk out. Laura and Gareth start to cry. "Get the doctor, mum." A mans voice says. Laura nods and her and Gareth leave.
"Ruby. I'm so so sorry." Gavin's voice spoke, and about a million emotions of mine exploded. I couldn't speak no matter how hard I tried, so I grabbed the bedside table pen and wrote "Sorry for what?" He looked sad. "Everything, sis. I vowed to myself next time I saw you I would snog you and say sorry, but seeing as your my sister I can't really do that. So I'm sorry, sister." He plants a kiss on my cheek and takes a deep breath.

I was allowed to come home that afternoon. The minute I got home Prim ran up and cuddles me. "Rubes.." she mutters sleepily. I laugh, walk up the stairs and put her in bed. She falls asleep instantly, like I thought she would. Kayla walked in happily. "Your room is so nice!" She gushed. I laughed. Kayla is so nice. "Thanks. So. You wanna stay here tonight?" I asked. She glanced downstairs at Landon then look back st me and nodded happily. I smile. "Is it just because of me that your coming, or someone else?" I smirk . Kayla blushes. "Well your brother might have something to do with it.." She looks guilty. "Kayla, darling, don't look so guilty. It's obvious he likes you. So go get him, girl!"
She beams. "You really think so?"
I nod. "I know so."
Kayla starts to unpack her bag. She brings out a drawing pad and a writing pad. She showed me one of her romance stories. She is most definitely going to be an author when she is older. Then she takes out her drawing pad. She showed me a picture she had drawn of me lying in my hospital bed. She told me I had been in there for a month in a coma- I know! I only thought I was there a week, and that I start college tommorow. Scary.
"Wow. I really need to stop sleeping." I laughed. The doorbell rang. I groaned loudly. "Please tell me Landon didn't invite the squad over." Kayla smiled happily. I moaned even louder. "Yay."
Kayla ran downstairs. I heard the voices. I got changed into a white off- shoulder crop top. I put on red lipstick and red high heels to match. I put on a red mini skirt and poses in the mirror. Looking good, girl. Looking good. When I walked out my room, I decided to go brush my teeth. I walked in the room and screamed when I saw Gavin was naked. I ran out the room. "Jesus Christ, girl! Can't you knock!" My ex shouted. Then he wrapped a towel round his waist and stared at me. His mouth opened. "What happened to wearing men clothes?" He teased. I frowned. "I grew up and got a life, brother." I rolled my eyes and strut my stuff down stairs. " Hello, Sleeping Beauty!" Riley and Miley both kissed my cheek. I cringed. Ricky and Bradley nodded at me, put an arm round their girls I went back into their usual positions. Justus and his girl (I'm not gonna say everybody's name am I?) didn't even come over, they just stayed snogging. Utterly gross. Kayla walked over to me and hugged me. "You look awesome!" She called out. Landon gave me a hug too. At the same time as Kayla, may I add. "Looking good sister." Christian walked up to me and coughed. "So the college has this party tommorow night and I was wondering if you wanted to go with me?" He asked. I blushed bright red and nodded. "I would love to."
Landon asked Kaylie. Kaylie squealed then laughed, and started to dance. She is so good at dancing. I always wonder why that girl is so happy! She is like, a light up to everyone's life. Riley Miley Ricky Bradley Tina and Justus were already going together, so just laughed at our excitement. At dead on midnight, everybody left except Kayla. I set Kayla a bed in the sofa and gave her a hug. "Night, girl!" I giggled and so did she.

*THE NEXT DAY*

"Bye Bye Prim!" I kiss my little sister fondly on the cheek. She is fast asleep, and meowing like a cat. I laugh. I check myself out in the mirror. I'm wearing the college tie and top, and a black skirt to just above my knees. I am wearing my glasses but they are like geek glasses just real. "We are leaving without you!" Landon shouts. Kayla laughs. I grin. I grab my rucksack and hang it on one shoulder then run downstairs. I jump in the back of Landon's car. "Ready!" I call from outside,doubting they would hear me. But they did, and before I knew it I was at my new college. I smile as I see texts from every brother who has a phone and my new parents. They all have the same basic meaning of "Good luck, we love you!"
My heart can't help but flip as Christian walks over. "Landon! My brother!" He calls out. He waves at Kayla then walks over to me. "Hey..So after the party I was wondering if you wanted to go to Kaspas? It's a desert diner. We could like..chill." I notice his face is a colour of a tomato then realise mine probably is too. "Sure. I'd..I'd love that." I was aware of my sweating forehead.
Landon and Kayla walked in and left me with Christian. Christian and I walked into college together and I noticed that we were holding hands. I smiled and suddenly butterflies entered my stomach. "What class you got?" He asked me. I took my planner out my bag. "Maths." I groaned. I hate maths. I'm really good at it, but I despise it. He laughed. "I've got PE. See you at lunch?" I nodded. He walked off and I leaned against my lockers, breathing heavily. God. I think I'm in love with you, Christian Lee. The bell rang. Poop. I ran to class and sat down. The day was long and hard. At lunch I couldn't meet Christian, I had to do the opening test. When it was finally the end of the day, I ran over to my brother Landon. "I need to get ready take me home take me home!" I jumped up and down. Landon kissed Kayla on the cheek, picked me up and drove me home. "So your official?" I asked him happily. He smiled. "Maybe.."
"YES!" I screamed. He jumped.
"Jesus I am trying to drive here!" He moaned. I giggled. Then we arrive shine. Guess where I went? Straight to get ready, of course!
