The Wedding Planner

Prologue

"And I now pronounce you husband and wife, you may now kiss the bride". Another successful wedding, good job Chorong.

Everyone clapped for the new husband and wife then the two married couple started running down the aisle out the door. The bride waited in front of the church with her back against everyone behind her. "I'm gonna throw it!" she said then threw the bouquet backwards. All the female guests tried to catch it.

But it was in my direction then it landed in my arms, everyone cheered for me then the bride approached me. "Thank you Chorong, you really made it the way I've always dreamed of" she thanked me with a hug.

"No problem, it's my job. Congratulations on your wedding" I said and smiled. She also smiled then ran to her husband then into the wedding car as they drove off probably to their honeymoon. They didn't ask for a reception though, so that makes my job easier.

I turned on my earpiece and called the next wedding I have to plan. "Hello? Yeah, Sungjae. Is there another wedding to be planned?" I asked my assistant. "None, the others are being planned by the other planners in the company so you can take a break. I'll inform you immediately if one comes up" he answered me.

I sighed, a break? You want me to relax? Yeah right. "Thanks Sungjae" was all I said then I hung up. The parents of the bride approached me "good morning Chorong, you did a great job for the decoration" said the mother.

"There's no need to thank me, this is my job" I answered respectfully. "Here's your payment, by the way, I have a nephew who would look great with you and-" "I'm sorry, but I need to go plan another wedding, goodbye" I said and bowed respectfully.

Every wedding, some of the guests approach me and try to match me up with some family member of theirs. I'm flattered but I'm too busy for those kinds of things, dating would take up too much of my time.

Yes, so I lie to get out of a situation like that because there really are times I'm planning 3-5 weddings at once but I leave the wedding only when I get my pay check.

My phone started to ring then I used my earpiece and answered the call. "Hello?" "Unnie, are you busy? Sungjae told me you're free so can we hang out?" it was Bomi, I knew that voice anywhere. "Sure Bomi, I could use someone to talk to right now" I said. "Great! I'll meet you by the wedding planning company" she said and hung up.

Her energy is very refreshing and I feel really tired but when I talk to her, it will always go to the topic about me getting a boy friend or going on blind dates. I seriously hate those, she once set me up on one and that guy only talked about how good looking he was. It was true but he didn't need to go bragging about it.

I stared at the bouquet in my hands and sighed, I should stop being near the bride when she's tossing the bouquet, this is the third time I've caught it.

I got on in my car, placed the bouquet in the back, and started driving towards my wedding planning company. Everyone says I'm the best planner there but I just try to do my best. Most of my fellow work mates are female but the male ones are I'm pretty sure gay, or something.

I arrived there and parked my car where it's reserved. I got out and waved at Bomi who was just standing right in front of the main entrance.

"Unnie!" then she ran to me and got in my car in the passenger seat. "Where do you want to go?" I asked. "Let's go to the café across the street from my house, I heard their hot chocolate tastes great!" she said with a bright smile. She's not a wedding planner, she's an interior designer.

"How's Tae Joon?" I asked, referring to her boy friend. "He's doing good, what about your boy friend? Oh right, you STILL don't have one" Bomi said while raising an eyebrow at me. "I'm busy, unlike you, I don't have any free time to date" I said.

"What do you think dating is? A hobby?" she asked. "That's not what I mean, It's just that I might not be able to give him the attention he would want and would be too busy to meet up with him that's all" I said. "That's the best part, so he'll visit you and surprise you there" she said with a wide grin.

"Then what? I have to leave with him? Yeah right, like I'd take a leave from my job. I'm doing great actually at it" I said while driving. Bomi looked at the back seat then saw the bouquet there. "You caught it again? You see Unnie? It's fate, even it wants you to get a boy friend at least" then we arrived at the café across Bomi's house. I parked my car in front of the store and we went inside.

"What do you want Unnie?" Bomi asked when we got a table. "Just coffee" I answered as I took my phone out of my pocket and checked for any messages or missed calls. Still none, I'm not used to this, being off the job. That's why I'm staying alert for any messages.

Bomi came back with a try of hot chocolate and coffee. "Tsk Unnie, put that phone back in your pocket. Sungjae said you're free today so at least try to talk with me without that phone present" she said with a strict voice. I sighed then shoved it back in my pocket.

I picked up the cup of coffee then blew on it and took a small sip. "How was the wedding?" she asked. "It went as planned, and as usual, they're pairing me up with their relatives" I said with a sighed and blew on my coffee. "Come on Unnie, if you had a bo-" "enough about that, seriously, how many times have you said that today?" I said feeling a bit annoyed.

"Sorry, It's just usual for me to make or try to convince you to get one" Bomi said while stirring her hot chocolate. "Never mind it anymore, how's your recent clients for the interior designing?" I asked. "Rude, strict, you know, same as usual. The worst part is when they try to flirt with me" she said sounding a bit angry.

"Don't worry, let's just enjoy our free time from those jerky clients" I said and Bomi nodded. I just hope I'll never meet a couple I personally know.
