"Do you still go to school?", Magnus asks him. His fingers still intertwined with Alec's. "Yeah but I'll graduate next month. What about you?" Alec sure knows that he doesn't go to his school, because he knows all of the seniors in Herondale High. It has its perks when you're the captain of the basketball team.
Alec loves to play basketball. At first, he played it because his parents told him to do something that is good for his future. But by time, he really get to like this sport. It's like all the anger you have, you put it in the ball and throw it to te basket.
"Alexander? Are you here?" Magnus snaps his fingers in front of Alec's face to bring him back to reality. "Eh yeah, I'm sorry what did you say?", he apologizes. He surely thinks that I don't care. Why do I always have to think?
Magnus laughs. "I said that I finished High School and then I searched a job. I cannot really say what I work as. It's difficult to explain, but I have clients and they ask me to do something. But don't think wrong. It's just something like painting the wall or repairing the toilet. You really do great money with that. What do you wanna do after High School?"
"That's cool. I actually wanted to go to college, but my parents think that it's better if I join their company.", he explains. "Oh really? Alec, maybe it's straightforward but have you ever thought about living alone? I mean I don't know you that well but it seems that you're sacrificing your life for your parents. And I think that you should be happy. I mean, everyone should be." Magnus gives a reassuring smile.
Alec knows that Magnus is right. But what can he do? It's not that he wants to stay with them. But he can't leave his siblings. Alec knows Robert, Alec can handle his punishments. And jace maybe too but he doesn't want to challenge that.
"Alec! You're off again." Really? Again?, Alec thinks to himself. Alec's and Magnus' hands begin to sweat, so they both pull away. Awkwaaaaard.
"I'm so sorry, again. I don't know what's wrong with me. Yeah, I know you're right. But it's more difficult than you think. Someday you will understand." Alec feels sorry not to tell him. But they barely know each other and Alec doesn't want to ruin it by telling Magnus his whole past.
"Why don't we stop talking about me," he starts "any start talking about us." Did I just say that. "Us?", Magnus asks.
"Yeah. Us. You know, you and me." And there it is again. The total nerd. Magnus can't resist a smile.
"Well, it got late. I didn't think that time would pass that fast." Alec checks his watch to check himself. Magnus is right. It's 8pm. How the time flies by.
"I think we should go home for now. But I would like to do it again. If you like."
"I would love to." Alec says."But actually", he begins, "can we do something like right now? I don't feel like going home. And it's really nice to hang out with you. I mean, if you don't have something planned."
Magnus smirks. He didn't think that Alec would say something like that. But it makes him happy. It serms like Alec is really interested.
"No, I didn't plan something for tonight. But I have to feed my cat. But if you like, you can come with me? Maybe we can watch a movie and oreder some pizza?"
Is he really asking me to go to his home? What should I do. I want to but what if something goes wrong. What if he suddenly kisses me? Wait, that wouldn't be thaaaat bad but...
No, no buts. Do it!
