The Way of Life (A Malec Fanfiction)

Why don't you get it?

The first thing Alec notices when he wakes up is a warm body pressed against his. It takes him a second to realize who it is. He was so tired yesterday, he didn't notice that Magnus put his arm around him.

It feels good, though. It was the first night that Alec hadn't got a nightmare since 'the accident'. His parents were never big huggers, so when he couldn't sleep he only had Isabelle. And since he's the older brother it usually was his turn to comfort her, when she couldn't sleep.

Alec feels the breaths that are coming from Magnus on his neck. He doesn't want to wake him up and he also doesn't want to leave this position, so he just enjoys the wamrth for a few minutes.

He feels Magnus mumbling and decides that it's time to get up. Sadly.
"Did you sleep well?", Magnus asks, without saying 'Good Morning'.

"Good morning to you, too.", Alec jokes. "Yeah I slept well. You?"
"Like a baby."
"I heard that." Alec smirks.
"What's that supposed to mean?" He tries to sound offended, but the chuckle betrays him.

"Nothing.", Alec teases. With one movement, Magnus rolled over and gives Alec a kiss. He actually wants to give him a passionate kiss, but it turns to be just a peck on the lips because Alec pulls away.

"I didn't even wash my teeth. And you neither."
He cringes because of the smell of morning breathe. If there's one thing that Alec hates, than it's morning breath.

"I'm sorry. Or maybe I'm not." Magnus gets up and goes to the bathroom.

Alec stays lying on the bed and waits till Magnus returns. When he returns Alec starts.

"Yesterday was really great Magnus. I need to go or my parents will wonder." Alec gets up and wants to kiss him. Magnus stops him with a hand on his chest.

"Ah ah. Wait. You didn't wash your teeth."
"Right.", Alec remembers.

He goes to the bathroom and notices that he hasn't his toothbrush with him.

"Magnus? Do you have maybe a second toothbrush?" He yells.

"Yeah. Look in the mirror cabinet. There should be one."

Alec yells thank you and takes the toothbrush. He washes his teeth and goes back to Magnus' room.

"So can I get a kiss now?", Alec asks with puppy eyes.
Magnus walks over to Alec and kisses him right on the mouth.

This time Alec's tongue asks for entrance and Magnus gives it to him. There are tongues fighting for dominance, Magnus wins.

Alec pulls away. "So I really need to go now. Maybe we can repeat it?" Magnus nods at that and gives him a small peck on the lips.

"Goodbye, Alexander."
"Goodbye."

As soon as Alec opens the door, Magnus calls him. "Wait. I think you forgot something."
Alec looks confused.

Magnus gives him a piece of paper. "You know, this time you better don't lose it."

Alec takes the paper and sees a number.
"Oh right. No, I won't."

They give each other a smile and Alec heads to his house.

Alec enters his house, just to see his parents waiting for him. He can see Jace and Izzy hiding in the living room. They probably want to know what their parents want to talk about with Alec.
