His expression changed as your eyes met, it was quiet for a good minute until Armin ruined the moment calling out to you

"(First name) let's go!" he winked at you from a little distance, you looked away from Reiner

"Coming!" Armin nodded and continued walking, you slowly took a step forward but Reiner was still holding on to your wrist

"I promise that I head right to the nurse once we finish training, so please let me go" he finally released your arm and you started running towards the others.

After you finished for the day everyone headed back to the barracks, you were talking to Sasha on the way back and totally forgot about your wound. Reiner was a few steps behind you with Berthold and he ear dropped on your conversation.

"Man I'm beat! The best thing to do would be a nice bath right now and some food" you giggled because the only thing she always thought of was food

"That sounds like a great idea..." she smiled like a little kid

"Then let's do it!!!" you smiled lightly at her cute exited face and were about to reply but then Reiner walked up from behind and placed his hand on your shoulder

"I'm sorry but she can't hang out tonight" your body started shaking as you felt his hand wrapping around your shoulder, Sasha raised her eyebrow and gave you a look

"Oh ok... I didn't know you already had plans for tonight, then I'll just ask Christa and Ymir" you gave her a closed eyes smile to cover your nervousness and to somehow line up with his lie

"S-Sorry Sasha, I forgot that I had something planed already, next time you can definitely count me in" she nodded and left your side waving you

"Have fun, I'll see you around" you waved back

"Why did you bark in?" you asked confused

"Because you broke your promise, remember what you said before I let you go?" you recalled the scene and hold on to your arm

"I..." he pulled you lightly with him as he headed for the nurses office

"If you can't go there on your own, I'll just have to deliver you there personally" you blushed lightly at his concerned words and just hummed.

You reached the office soon and the nurse inspected your arm

"It's not a serious injury, just a graze it will heal in a few days" you nodded

"Make sure to cover it properly and apply this cream at least 2 times a day" she handed you a cream that would speed up the healing process

"Thank you" after she bandaged your wound you were good to go.

"Thank you for the support..." you managed to mumble out shyly after Reiner had dragged you here

"No worries, I had to make sure you are ok" a small blush appeared on your cheeks and you looked on the ground

"May I ask you something?" he nodded while both of you left the office and walked towards the barracks

"Sure just go ahead" you were nervous and lightly hold on to he necklace on your neck

"Why were you so worried about me? We only know each other for a day and yet you were already concerned about my health" Reiner could not really explain why, he was confused himself that he went this far for you

"To be honest... I don't know myself why I care" you played with the tree shape of the necklace while he continued talking

"Maybe I do because when I first saw you, you reminded me of someone I used to know... you also have the same name as her" your heart started pounding faster

"W-Who is it?" his expression turned sad

"A friend of mine who used to live in the underground district of Wall Sina" every part of your body started shaking as he spoke out these words

"Where is she now?"

"I don't know... the last time I saw her was the day I left, after that I heard that he underground city was invaded by the garrison regiment during the titan attack, due to protests of the citizens who wanted to flee a lot of people got injured and some of them died. I don't know if she was one of them but I have not much hope that she made it out of there, even if she did promise me that she would..." he sounded really emotional when he talked like this and you had the urge to tell him that you were able to make it out and were standing right next to him now, breathing and fully alive.

"I'm sorry if I bother you with this talk, you just remind me of her that's all, your appearance is just like hers... forgive me if that sounds rude" you shook your head and released your necklace that went back under your shirt

"No not at all... I understand your feelings, I would think the same if I were you" it was quiet until you reached the barracks.

"Thank you again for helping me today, I really appreciated it" he smiled lightly

"No it was my pleasure to help you, so don't thank me for that small favor" you nodded smiling

"I guess I see you around then" he nodded

"Good night" you grabbed the door handle and opened the old wooden door

"D-Did I hurt you when I told you that you reminded me of my friend?" you stopped with your back facing him

"No not at all, I am glad you shared something private like this with me, I am happy that you see someone in me who you used to know" you put on your best act while you answered his question and had to make sure your voice wasn't cracking while you spoke

"I see, I am glad then, because I would really like to be friends with you" a small tear run down your cheek

"I would like that too, if my appearance does not trouble you so much" he smiled

"No not at all, I am really looking forward to get to know you better" your heart was aching in your chest

"Then we call each other friends from now on?" he chuckled lightly

"Yes, we are friends now" he turned around

"You should get some rest now, I see you tomorrow" you nodded

"You too, sleep well" you listed to his feet that stumped on the ground as he moved away from you, your hands continued to open the door and closed it as soon as you were inside. You body gave in and you slide down to the floor holding your necklace tightly while another tear run down your face

"I am right here... why can't you see me?"
