CHAPTER 10

Its been two days after Mom's funeral, dad has been avoiding me since then he wont eat  or even talk to me, i know its been really hard on him but what about me? He doesn't even care how i feel, i think its high time i confront him i mumbled to myself......When i got to his room i noticed he was crying, immediately he saw me he wiped the tears on his cheeks  "Dad we need to talk i said as i sat down next to him....Natasha we have nothing to talk about just go to your room replied dad heading to the door,    dad you have not eaten for 3days now you wont speak to me or even look at me, am also sad that mom is gone am your daughter and i need to be comforted by you, i left my apartment to spend more time with you but still you don't even care about me i said angrily as tears filled my eyes...young lady i didn't ask you to come over and stay with me you can go back to your apartment i will be fine on my own replied my dad....sorry to disappoint you dad but am not going anywhere this was mom's last wish for us to reconcile and till then i will remain here.

Ma'am there is a young man here to see you said Veronica the maid a black lady with grey hair, she's been our maid since i was a child and i had lots of respect for her....i have told you so many times Veronica not to call me ma'am just call me Natasha you are old enough to be my mom so please...Okay Natasha its just that am so use to calling you ma'am and its really difficult calling you by your name said Veronica, i don't mind you calling me by my name i replied patting veronica on her shoulder  i will join the person shortly..........when i got downstairs i saw Richard sitting on the couch, "Hey Natasha said Richard coming close to me, Richard what do you want? I said walking pass him, Natasha am sorry about your mom's death i was unable to attend the funeral due to my tight schedule please accept my  condolences said Richard pouting,  thank you very much for coming i really appreciate i think you should take your leave now since we are done talking i replied with a smirk on my face....why will you do that to your guest that's a rude thing to do interrupted my dad,  dad we have nothing to talk about that's why i think he should leave i replied angrily, its fine sir i will just take my leave sorry about your wife's death said Richard staring at me, i could feel anger  in his voice and eyes, immediately he dashed out of the house.....Natasha what is wrong with you, why do you hate that young man so much, what did he ever do to you? Said my dad he also looked angry with me, dad i don't hate Richard am just not in the mood to talk to him right now, I'll be in my room if you need me. When i got to my room i saw Veronica sitting at the edge of my bed....i need to talk to you Natasha come over and sit close to me
Hope everything is ok i asked with so much curiosity....everything is fine i just want you to move on with your life i know how much you miss Chris i watched you guys grow up together and how you fell in love, but now Chris is gone and i know its really difficult for you to open your heart to love again but please teach your heart to love again even if it hurts just open your heart, i promised your mom i'd try my best and see that you move on with your life, i know i don't really know much about Richard but from my observation i think he is a good man......immediately i interrupted Veronica, thank you very much Veronica i think am old enough to decide when i want to fall in love again, i don't mean to be rude but i think you should leave now am kind of busy i said turning on my laptop......Natasha i know you to be a very stubborn girl since you were a kid but please try not to allow that stubbornness get into you said Veronica heading towards the door.

The next morning i woke up really late as usual i had a very important meeting with my boss at the office as soon as i checked the time it was already 8:15am, immediately i dashed to the bathroom brushed my teeth, had my bath and dressed up for work..when i got downstairs breakfast was already served i slipped a tiny piece of pancake in my mouth and gulped the whole cup of coffee i could feel my tongue burning as i did that, i rushed to my dad's room to tell him i was going...."Morning dad i have to go to work now please try and eat breakfast and don't stay hungry i love you then i pecked him on the head and dashed out.
                The almighty Natasha Williams is here, hope you had a great night said Mr Walter sipping his coffee....Am so sorry sir, i woke up really late i said shyly...you always wake up late i wonder what kind of journalist you are, well you have an assignment to work on you will be travelling to Canada with Mr Richard i want you to represent our company and get full details of the conference said Mr Walter, but Mr Walter why do i have to be the one to go what about Jason, Kristen or even Mia i grumbled "Mind you i cant send Jason or Kristen they will just end up ruining things and for the records Mia is just my secretary what does she know about getting  vital information's replied Mr Walter flipping through a journal...but why do i have to go with Mr Richard cant there be any other person i can go with i pouted...Young lady just do as i say and get ready for your trip you will be leaving on Sunday morning with Richard please try and behave yourself when you get there and try not to be clumsy as well, you just have tomorrow which is Saturday to arrange your stuff make sure you pack enough clothes cause you will be staying there for two weeks.....What?? Two weeks? But that's too long Mr Walter what about my dad he needs me right now i cant leave him for two weeks i yelled, Miss Williams your dad is a full grown adult he can take care of his self, don't worry i will try to be checking up on him when am free, take these files and work on them Said Mr Walter handing me some files.....As i entered the elevator i kept mumbling to myself i was so angry i had to go on this trip with Richard am sure he planned for this to happen why did he even choose our company he  is just so full of himself.....When i got to my office i noticed a familiar face sitting on my chair it was no other person  than Amy. "How can i help and why are you sitting on my chair i said angrily dropping the files on the table with a loud bang, hey take it easy with the files Natasha well am actually here to warn you to stay away from my boyfriend just leave him alone he is my man and my man alone yelled Amy causing everyone's attention to drift to us.....Amy i have absolutely nothing to do with your boyfriend so please get out.....Alright then but next time i see you with him you will be in for it replied Amy walking pass me......Ermmh Miss Williams who was that lady she looks really crazy said Jason with a frown on his forehead, Jason can you please learn to mind your business and just get out of my sight i replied angrily.
        After work i had to drop by my apartment and arrange some of my stuff...."Best friend i have missed you so much screamed Olivia wrapping me in a bear hug, i missed you more sweetheart i replied smiling.....Am starving Oli is there anything available for me to eat i said taking off my heels, i made some sandwich and there is a bottle of milk in the refrigerator, without hesitation i rushed to the kitchen and ate....Oli i just received the worst news of my life today i yelled from the kitchen, whats the news said Olivia rushing to the kitchen. " I'll  be traveling to Canada on Sunday with Richard i said sadly........OMG this is the best news ever its gonna be a romantic trip am so happy for you best friend you finally accepted him screamed Olivia......its not a romantic trip Oli its a business conference mind you he already has girlfriend  i replied, he has a girlfriend already so soon he didn't even wait for  you said Olivia sadly,   i think they have been dating since forever maybe he just wants to flirt with me he is just going to end up annoying me on this business trip, While Olivia and i kept talking the door bell rang, Olivia immediately went to open door i was so excited to see Anderson after so many years i rushed and hugged him really tight i have known Anderson since high school i remember when he use to have a crush on me back then and it irritated me because he use to be one of  the Nerds in school then, but with time as i got to know him and since he started dating Olivia he became one of my closet friend. "Natasha i have missed you so much am really sorry about your mom's death and that of Chris hope you are ok said Anderson still hugging me, come on that's enough with the hugging am beginning to get jealous said Olivia pouting....Okay we are done hugging Oli stop being jealous i replied hitting Olivia on the arm playfully.....We had a really great time with Anderson we talked about different event that has happened in our lives and also reminisced on our past......it was already 9:30pm i had to go back home and stay with my dad i was unable to pack my stuff due to our series of conversation, Ermmh i have to go now its already late i said putting on my shoes....i thought you and Oli are sharing this apartment said Anderson looking surprised, of course we are sharing the apartment is just that Tasha needs to be with her father right now  said Olivia cuddling Anderson, i will just leave you love birds together have a splendid night i said as i rushed to the door.
    Dad was already asleep when i got home he looked so innocent like a baby wrapped up in his duvet as he slept i quickly pecked him on the cheeks i went to my room i quickly rushed to the bathroom brushed my teeth and had my bath as i slipped into my duvet i received an email from Richard i quickly opened it to read the content of the message it read...."try to be early first thing on Sunday morning  and try not to be late as usual i have already booked our flight and i will send my driver over to come pick you up."
