Pastor Adams is sitting in the Pastors chamber reviewing notes for his next sermon. His son Mitchell comes in with.
"hey dad, Melinda is outside" Mitchell says.
Pastor Adams lets out a sigh of frustration.
"I told her the last 3 time she called that I will not be able to make the delivery until Sunday. Can't she wait 3 days?" Pastor Adams says.
Pastor Adams sighs in frustration once again. Then he stands up and walks to a closet. He opens the closet. Inside there is a metal box with with a green padlock on it. Pastor Adams takes out his keys and unlocks the padlock and opens the box and takes out a paper bag and sets it on the chair behind him. He locks the box back up and puts it in the closet. He turns around and grabs the paper bag.
"Alright, let her in" Pastor Adams says.
Mitchell opens the door and lets Melinda inside. He shuts the door loudly which causes Melinda to jump a little bit. Mitchell points to a chair and Melinda sits down in it.
"Thanks for...um... seeing me Pastor Adam" Melinda says quietly.
"Do you have the money?" Pastor Adam responds.
"Yes" Melinda says, searching her pockets.
She pulls out a $50 and hands it to Pastor Adams. He takes the money and gives her the bag. She opens it and lets the foul order consume her nostrils. She cracks a smile. She gets up and leaves the room after she gives Mitchell and Pastor Adams a thankful smile.
Mitchell laughs at Melinda's gratitude. As does Pastor Adams. Their laugher grows. Mitchell takes out a joint and lights it on fire. He begins to smoke it. He then hands it to Pastor Adams. Pastor Adams inhale the joint.
"Proverbs 11:28" Mitchell says, snickering.
"What's that?" Pastor Adams says as he exhales the smoke.
"Proverbs chapter 11, verse 28" Mitchell starts again.
"hmmm" Pastor Adams moans, inhaling the joint once again.
" Those who trust in their riches will fall, but the righteous will thrive like a green leaf." Mitchell says.
Pastor Adams lets out a chuckle.
