Mitchell sits in the chair staring at Melinda lifeless body. Pastor Adams walks in and sees that Mitchell is shaken.
"Mitchell?"Pastor Adams slowly walks towards him.
"She was going to tell the cops dad...I couldn't..I couldn't let her tell" Mitchell says with tears down his eyes.
Mitchell points to Melinda's body. Pastor Adams walks toward it slowly. Pastor Adam walks over to the dead body and sees that her eyes are still open. He kneels down and closes them.
"Dad...Please" Mitchell cries. "I don't wanna go to hell"
Pastor Adams stands back up. He turns around.
"Son, we have no control over where we go after we die." Pastor Adams mumble.
Mitchell begins to sob.
"Mitchell, you did the right things. In the bible there were many sacrifices that had to be made" Pastor Adams reassures.
Mitchell looks up at his father.
"Murder is entirely different from a sacrifice. You can fool the members but you can't fool me" Mitchell continues to cry. "I fucked up"
"It may feel that way at first. But this isn't the first time that it's happened. It won't be the last either" Pastor Adams says with slight chuckle.
"What do you mean?" Mitchell asks.
"remember when Granny died?" Pastor Adams asks.
"Yea...the doctor said she died in her sleep" Mitchell responds.
"thats what the doctor said. But that wasn't the truth" Pastor Adams says.
"you killed her" Mitchell confirmed.
"Me? No it was your mother. Granny said she would tell the police that there was marijuana around you and Mariam. Your mother reacted in a very violent way." Pastor Adams says.
"wow" Mitchell whispered
Pastor Adams laughed.
"surprise"
