Wednesday
It was a rainy afternoon and we were having our last subject for the day, Theology.
"There are three essential dimensions of faith. Believing, Doing and Entrusting. Believing involves knowing in Jesus and the truth he teaches. It involves---"
I wasn't really quite paying attention because I was busy talking to myself and thinking about all the homework I have to do when I get home.
How I wish there would be no practice after class.
And just like that, I got a text from Coach Rey,
"No practice today team."
I smiled.
YES!
Thank you, Universe. You are always dependable.
"Okay, so that's it for today. Prepare for a long quiz on Friday. Good bye, class." Professor Serrano said.
"Good bye Ma'am." We responded.
"Hey Soph. Are you coming with us? We're going to the mall." Claire said.
"What are you going to do at the mall?" I asked.
"Shopping. What else?" Hannah laughed.
"Shopping for what?" I asked again, looking puzzled.
"Para sa acquaintace party, ano ka ba."
"Oh."
"And boy hunting." A voice said.
We turned around and saw Rose Salvador.
"Joke lang. Pwede bang sumama? I really want to look stunning at the Party and I need fashion advices from you fashionistas." She said.
"You say what now?" I said jokingly and laughed.
She smiled.
"Huy, sge na. Alis na tayo bago pa lumakas tong ulan." Hannah grabbed my hand and started dragging me towards the door.
"As much as I want to come along with you, which I do," I looked at Claire and Hannah "I have so many homeworks to catch up to. Right now, I'll pass. Maybe next time though."
"WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT?" They said together.
"Yeah."
"You serious?" Claire asked.
"Damn serious." I answered.
"Oh come on. Wala ka nang kailangan problemahin. Ang taas ng grades mo." Hannah said.
"Well, It doesn't mean that I have high grades I won't do my homework, right?"
"Ugh." She rolled her eyes.
"Maybe next time." I said, waved goodbye and walked towards the door.
I was already near the gate when I suddenly remembered that all my books are at my locker. Oh crap. Now I have to go back. Jeez. Plus this rain is not slowing down.
And just like that again, the rain suddenly stopped.
I paused, widened my eyes and smiled. Ha! The Universe is on my side today. Yes!
