Wrong Timing (On-going)

Chapter Eight

Tuesday

I was at the library. Studying and preparing myself for our long quiz on Zoology.

"There are three types of muscle tissue in the human body: Cardiac, smooth or visceral, and skeletal.  All three types of muscle tissue consist of two main muscle proteins termed actin and myosin." I mumbled.

I tried memorizing and familiarizing the whole chapter, because I need to have a big score. Absent ako the last time nag long quiz sila, so I needed this.

Sinulat ko ang mga key words sa mga definitions na nimememorize ko para madali lang matandaan.

Smooth muscles, Elongated, Spindle, Involuntary, Cardiac, Quadrangular, Involuntary...

At the back of my mind, I still remember what happened at our Acquiantance Party after we kissed.

When the party ended we both separated our ways. I saw my friends and Rose decided that we should spend the night at the hotel, her treat, kse ayaw nya raw na uuwi ako nang bahay na lasing baka papagalitan ako ni Charlie. 

Then I knew that the twins were caught and was suspended for what they did because I wasn't the only one who got drunk during the party. Good thing no one's missing.

"Bulaga!"

I squeaked.

"Shhh!!" The Librarian scolded.

When I turned around, I saw Adam, smiling.

"Di mo ba nakikita na dinidistorbo mo ako, Adam?" I snapped.

"Why are you so cranky, Miss Sophie?" He had that playful smile on his face again. For sure aasarin niya na naman ako.

"I'm not cranky, okay? And can you please not call me Miss Sophie? Please, call me Sophie lang." I looked at him.

"Okay Sophie Lang. Anong ginagawa mo dito?" He grinned.

"Ugh." I rolled my eyes. Tumayo ako and took all my books.

"Teka. Saan ka pupunta?" He asked.

"Obviously, some place away from you." I started walking away.

I ended up staying sa school garden. Good thing, I was alone there.  Eto yung gusto ko, peaceful na lugar para madali lang ako mkaconcentrate. I sat under a huge tree to avoid getting hit by the harsh rays of the sun. Medyo maarte kase ako when it comes to my skin, kaya iniiwasan ko talagang umitim. 

After how many minutes, I was already done. 

Success! I am ready for our long quiz.

I sat there and waited for the bell to rang. I look at my watch and saw that I still have 40 minutes to spare. Napagpasyahan ko nalang na dun tumambay, atsaka hindi ko pa rin nakikita sila Hannah. Teka, san na ba sila? Kanina ko pa sila tinetext hindi naman rumereply.

"Pst."

I looked around and saw no one.

"Pst." It sounded again.

I look around and hardly anyone was near me. Halos silang lahat nandun sa soccer field at yung iba nandun sa canteen. 

Shivers came running up and down my spine.

Could it be that it was the entity following me? Nako. I hope not!

"Pst."

Napahinto ako sa kakalingon-lingon sa paligid ko at pinakinggan nang mabuti kung saan galing yung tunog.
