I never thought it'd get to this.
A series of hellos and goodbyes
That find themselves in our inbox.
We talk about the weather,
And your baseball team.
"How's the summer going?"
Simply the same meaning hidden behind each words.
Except you're clueless.
You partake in this mindless chatter,
Typed by a sad girl hidden behind a screen,
Slick with tears.
The tears read clearer than my words.
I don't think it was a mistake to break up with you,
I don't think I can take it that far.
I just wish you would answer.
Instead of leaving me there,
Staring at a screen that's blurred with confusion.
I'm confused,
Truly and utterly confused.
I'm not sure how I got to this place, it seems worse than purgatory,
My own personal hell,
Built right into my mind.
I don't know what I did to deserve this.
Help me understand.
