Too Much

I fell too hard,

Your eyes drew me in,

but the hard truth cast me out.

The truth that I knew was inevitable,

and yet I clung to my ignorance like it was a rope to keep me from drowning.

Drowning in the light blues of your eyes.

The dark black of your pupils,

the soft shine when you stood in the light.

It's gone.

The shine,

it left my eyes and joined the shine in yours.

My pupils are black,

too dark to be beautiful.

You ran away,

and took my happiness too.
