Robert

           Annabel Allen had kissed me.

And that's all that had mattered.

I didn't care that I could die. I didn't care that Fire could die. I didn't care that Water could die. But Annabel Allen was aimed at in the attack.

And that's all that had mattered.

I weighed my decisions: my mother would wait, or Anne would die. I leapt in front of Annabel and the pain coursed through my every inch.

Someone shouted my name, but it wasn't Annabel Allen. Annabel Allen couldn't speak, because on her lips was the feel of the first and last kissed we would ever share. I didn't care that I was dying, because Annabel Allen had kissed me.

And that was all that had mattered.
