PERSPECTIVE {Iris}
I wake up the morning after the date at 10 AM. Thank God it's Saturday. I lay in bed for a second, and then pop up. I get dressed, putting on just a t-shirt and sweats, nothing fancy. I walk out into the living room where I spot Dad and Wally.
Wally is my little brother.
"Morning, Iris." Wally says.
"Good morning!" Dad says, and I swear people across the globe could hear him.
"Morning, fellas." I smile. I take a seat at the table they are sitting at.
"How was your date?" Wally finally asks. He says it in that tone of voice. I totally expected that. They were both asleep when I got home last night.
"Fabulous." I say.
"Was Barry nice?" Wally continues to ask questions.
"Of course. Sweetest man ever." I say, resting my arms on the table.
"He better be nice to you." Dad laughs. What should I expect from him? Just that.
"Dad..." I shake my head. Then, my phone buzzes in my pocket. I pull it out. Barry.
Barry: hey iris, how are you?
It's nice of him to check up on me. "See, dad? He just texted me and asked me how I was. If that isn't nice then I don't know what is." I giggle. I text him back.
Me: i'm great, actually sitting with my dad and brother, talking about how amazing you are. :)
Barry: aww, iris. <3
I see Wally trying to look over at my phone. I tilt it towards me.
"Almost." He says, shaking his head.
Me: what can I say? You were the best!
Barry: IRIS <3<3
Me: come over, I'm going to make breakfast.
Barry: okay, are you sure your dad is fine with it?
Me: just come over now.
Barry: okay, okay <3
I set my phone face down on the table. "I'm going to make breakfast, Barry's coming over, and I'm going to change into nicer clothes." I say, trying to hide the words.
"What did you say?" Dad looks me in the eyes.
"I'm going to make breakfast, and get changed." I say, standing up.
"Before getting changed." Wally says, playing my game.
"Make breakfast." I can't help but laugh.
"IRIS!" Dad yells as I run up the stairs, laughing. I go into my room, and put on a red, skin-tight dress. Gotta turn some heads, am I right? I walk back down the stairs, and into the kitchen, trying to avoid Dad. "Iris, what did you say about Barry?"
"He's coming over." I mumble. I put a frying pan on the stove, and turn the burner on. "Shall I make eggs and bacon?"
"Yes, please!" Wally interjects.
"Okay, Wally." I smile. I open the fridge, pulling out the eggs and bacon. I get a second frying pan out, and turn another burner on. I place the pan down on the burner.
"I never said you could invite him, Ms. West!" Dad exclaims.
"I'm an adult. I make my own choices." I say, putting my hands on my hips.
