I could hear the sirens in the distance. They were getting louder and louder. I was unsure whether they were police sirens or ambulance sirens. I was equally as unsure about which one of those two would help more in the situation that we're in. I was upset and scared, but I just couldn't cry. Not even one tear. It felt like some sort of twisted nightmare. It didn't feel real at all. All I could do was sit back and watch and hope for the best.

(4 months earlier)

I sat on my bed, staring at the ceiling. Tomorrow, it was my 19th birthday. I haven't cared about my birthday ever since my mum died four years ago. She was in a plane crash and there were no survivors. My dad doesn't ever do anything for us. He may as well just not be there. I have two twin brothers, Jamie and Andy, that are 15 and a sister, Demetria (or Demi) that's 16. I'm Alana. My mum named the girls, and my dad the boys. Him being the man he is, couldn't be bothered to think, so he named them after two blokes he saw on the telly. Typical. I had always looked after my siblings since my mum died. I made sure there was food on the table, I made sure there was enough money for things we needed and I made sure that they got on okay at school. My dad did nothing. I often wondered how a man like him could get an amazing woman like my mother.

After she died, the only things that kept me going were my siblings and music. Music has helped me through a lot. One band in particular.

You Me At Six.

I'd always adored them, but they had helped me through so much lately. They were coming to London in three days. I had begged my dad for tickets, but he said no. What a surprise. I decided to get up and go make breakfast for everyone. But, when I got there, Jamie, Andy and Demi were sitting there with smiles spread across their faces.

'Finally! We've been waiting for you for ages!' Jamie said.

'It's only 9:30, what are you doing awake?'

'We have something for you..' And with that, Andy slapped a white envelope with my name on it on the counter.

'Just think of it as an early birthday present.' I opened the envelope and two tickets reading 'You Me At Six, O2 Academy Brixton, Tuesday 3rd of April.' I couldn't believe it.

'Oh! I almost forgot! Here ya go.' And Demetria gave me another white envelope. Inside this, there was two tickets that read 'You Me At Six: Meet and Greet'. I burst out in tears and hugged them, tightly.

'H..h...how?!' I stuttered.

'We saved up for a few months. We know how obbsessed you are.' And with that, I broke the hug and ran upstairs to phone my best friend, Frankie.

'Lana, it's 9:45, what do y-' I cut her off.

'YOU ME AT SIX TICKETS AND MEET AND GREET, WE'RE GOING IN THREE DAYS!'

'W..What?!'

'WE. ARE. GOING.' I simply hung up. I knew she'd be over later. This was the best birthday ever.
