ALANA
Dan and I talked for what seemed like hours. Really, it was only about 45 minutes, but it was like I had been there all night.
After about 5 minutes of sulking, Frankie finally realised how much of an idiot she looked and decided to join our conversation. I talked to everyone individually, and they were all so lovely. I felt normal around them.
It didn't feel as if they were famous.
It was just like a few friends having a conversation. Max did eventually come back. Him and Frankie had a decent conversation without her going insane. Maybe she actually was a human being.
We talked about everything. From music and different bands, to football, even though I didn't have a clue who anyone was or what anything meant.
It eventually got to 23:45 and I realised that we had to get going otherwise I'd never get home.
'Frankie, we really need to get going you know. We'll never get home otherwise.' I said. She gave me a look of both frustration and sadness, but agreed.
We all finished our conversations and said goodbye to each other.
'It was nice meeting you guys, thank you for letting us back here.' I said with a smile.
'It was nice meeting meeting both of you as well. Good luck in college, Alana.' Josh said. I felt my face flush and I could hear everyone burst into uncontrollable fits of laughter.
'Ha ha, nice one Joshua.' I mumbled.
'I know, I've always been the funniest.'
Wanker.
'Hey, you know what, you both seem cool, you should give me your number and we can, you know, meet up again.' Josh said with a wink.
Everyone laughed except for Dan.
He just stood there, shuffling around, looking at the floor. He was fine a minute ago. Maybe he was just bored. Or tired. Or both.
'Yeah, okay. Don't harass me, though.' He laughed as I tapped my number into his phone.
'Text me and tell me it's you.' He just stared at me, his face full of confusion.
'But you just gave me your number, of course it's me...'
'I don't have your number, so I'm most likely going to get 20 ridiculous text's from an unknown number.' He was still confused.
'Josh, give me your phone, you idiot.' Matt stepped in snatching his phone from him.
'Hello...Alana...It's Josh. Done.' He read it out loud as he sent it to me.
I saved his number, and he still looked slightly unaware as to why we did that.
'I don't know what you're confused about, Josh. It's way past your bedtime so maybe you just need sleep.' That was the first thing Dan had said for a while.
'Maybe I'll understand in the morning Daniel. Maybe.' Of course he will.
'Well, we better go. It was nice to meet you, again.' Frankie gave me a 'you wait until we get outside' look.
We said goodbye all over again and we made our way out.
Almost instantly, I had a text from Josh.
'Heyyyyyyyyy! I gave your number to Dan, by the way. He wanted it because he fancies you.'
Before I could reply, I received another text from an unknown number.
'Hi, it's Dan. Josh gave me your number, I hope that's okay?'
And I suppose that's where it all began.
