There they were.
Sitting barely ten feet away from me.
I could feel myself begin to shake and I was breathing heavily. There were around twenty other girls in front of us. A lot of them were crying, a few of them were frozen in place. Frankie took one look at Max and let out a loud sigh.
'Doesn't he just look perfect, Alana. I mean, it's no surprise. He always looks good. I see your future husband is looking fine too!' She shouted over the screams of all the girls behind us. I knew she was referring to Dan.
Daniel Flint.
She was right though. He did look good. His hair had been stripped of the blond and had been returned to it's natural colour of brown. He was wearing a grey Drop Dead jumper and a pair of black jeans. He was smiling at the girl in front of him, proceeding to hug her and smile for a few pictures. The line wasn't moving particularly quickly. Everybody was so engrossed in conversation with all of them.
DAN
It never felt right having to communicate with people over a table. The hugs always felt half-hearted and a lot of the time, heads were cut out of pictures because of the seperation.
But apart from that, everything was fine.
I could hear some fans singing our songs in the background. Behind all the screaming of course. There were always a lot of screaming girls.
Or there was a few obsessed ones.
For example, I turn to my right and see a girl walk in with 'Max Helyer' written on her face with the odd few hearts on her forehead.
She was with another girl that looked relatively normal. They didn't look that much younger than us. The normal girl was carrying an orange folder. I couldn't see what was inside, but I suspected it was a letter, or something along those lines.
I don't know why, but I was drawn to this girl so much.
She was getting closer and closer and I was becoming more intrigued. I couldn't see her face clearly, but I could tell she was good looking. Her pin straight brown hair fell to the middle of her back and her hand was fiddling with her clothing.
I signed some posters and cd's, took a few pictures, and even had a conversation about Blake Lively and Leighton Meester, but my concentration level was at an extreme low.
I was staring at her, everyone could tell I wasn't paying attention to anyone. I was just about to turn away when she looked directly in my eyes.
ALANA
'He's staring at you Lana! Dan the man is staring at you!' Frankie shouted, loud and clear. She's called him that since day one. She though it was funny because it rhymed.
'Could you be any louder? Everyone is staring...' I whispered in her ear.
'Yes, and one of them is him. I saw him, Lana!' I had noticed him looking around quite a bit, but only once had we actually looked directly at each other.
We eventually got to the front if the line and I gave Chris the drawing I did of him.
'Wow, this is brilliant!' I thanked him and asked him to sign my shirt, which he did. When I moved on to Matt, I gave him the drawing and he thanked me. We had a little conversation about KFC and Nando's and I asked him to sign my shirt. Meanwhile, Frankie was doing ridiculous things to Max.
'Frankie, you might want to let go before you kill him!' I laughed. Eventually she let go, her eyes streaming with tears.
'I'm sorry about her,she just got a bit over excited.' I explained to him.
'Don't worry, I've had much worse! Wow, is that me?' He said, referring to the drawing.
'Yeah it is.'
'This is crazy! You're talented.' He was sweet. But, as he was signing my shirt, I couldn't help but notice that while Frankie was talking to Dan, she kept pointing in my direction.
DAN
'So, she really likes you. Almost as much as I love Max. Almost.' I noticed. Max had to check himself over a few times after she'd finished with him. But that doesn't matter. She was specifically pointing at my interest of the day.
'Oh, really?'
'Oh yeah! I'm going to go and leave you two alone..' She said with a sly smirk as she walked towards Josh. I must admit, I was slightly scared of her.
But, finally she was infront of me. She looks a lot better close up. She had bright, piercing green eyes. She was tall and slim. She was gorgeous.
'Hi, what's your name?' I asked, desperate to make conversation.
'Alana' she said, flashing me a beautiful smile. I was staring into her eyes intensely.
'You have gorgeous eyes by the way.' She blushed and I laughed quietly.
'Thank you. Oh, I drew you this.' She handed me a drawing of myself. It was amazing. It looked like a black and white photograph.
'This is brilliant! Thank you.' I smiled at her, never letting my gaze drop from hers.
'Would it be okay if I got a picture?' I didn't even have to think.
'Of course, my pleasure!' I stood up and leaned over the table. I asked Max to take it. After he took it, I leaned over and hugged her, tightly.
She smelt good. Like watermelon.
She asked me to sign her shirt and I did.
'Well, thank you for the picture, Alana.' I said. I didn't want her to move on, but there were a few people waiting for me.
'No problem. Bye Dan.'
'Goodbye beautiful'.
ALANA
Well that was magical. Dan Flint just told me I have gorgeous eyes. Now I know how Frankie feels about Max.
Josh was last.
'Looks like Dan fancies you a bit.' He said with a smirk. I laughed awkwardly, feeling my face burn up.
'Um...I drew you this...' I said handing over the picture. His eyes widened ana huge smile spread across his face.
'Jesus, this is ridiculously good! How long did this take you?' I explained everything about my terrible birthday and how I spent most of the day planning today. He laughed and stood up.
'That deserves a hug.' He said pulling me in. He was lovely. They were all lovely. I finally asked him to sign my shirt and he did.
The meet and greet was over.
Frankie was still overwhelmed from meeting Max, and I was still smiling like a Cheshire cat from meeting Dan. Thus begins, the greatest day of my life.
