How odd, after that ordeal, Paige had become exceedingly quiet and nervous.
Sean had been tended to by Ladia and Mark whilst Paige explained, obviously very stressed about the situation. Though Sean held nothing against her, since it obviously wasn't her fault. She was a child born to an uncaring family, she didn't choose to be born.
It had been a bit since then, Matt and Ryan had resigned to work with the game grumps, Sean had gone home to Ireland to see Signe once more... Mark however, Mark was making changes more than anyone. He had voted that they move to avoid Paige's psycho parents, and even hired four more people. Friends as he saw them.
Katherine, a shy individual who was actually genuinely fun to be around especially for Paige, worked as an editor and filmed. Amy, Mark's new girlfriend who Ladia and Paige both found super sweet, chilled while they filmed and helped out when needed. Ethan, baby boy blue or cringy cookie monster courtesy of Ladia and Paige, was one of the child's favorites. She didn't like to pick- but Ethan was so sweet and fun, plus super skilled at editing! Tyler, someone Paige noticed that Ladia had taken quite a liking to in all honesty, was an old friend of Mark. He didn't edit or film, but he was in many videos, and he was hilarious.
They all lived together, and they enjoyed it, even Paige despite her residing guilt.
So that brings us to today, Monday, June 19th, 2017. The rain is pouring outside, and Mark can be heard spewing out curses over the sound of thunder.
Ladia is sitting with Tyler on the couch talking casually and cracking jokes, whilst Ethan grins and sits cross legged on the floor beside Paige, playing Uno and losing horribly. Everyone had the sneaking suspicion that he was letting her win, but no one voiced it.
"Guys, guys, guys!"
Mark rushed out panting, Tyler and Ladia being the first to look up and cast him odd expressions, Ethan seemingly to invested in trying to win. Paige didn't blame him, she was pretty good, not to toot her own horn or anything.
"I just got a great idea! Remember those cooking videos we did? We should do one with cakes, all of us! Amy and Kat can be judges! That means you to Paige~."
The child lifted her gaze, leaning back on the hand not holding her cards, an eyebrow raised. Did he expect a certain answer?
"Mark, I don't know how to cook."
The black haired male only shrugged, "Hey!" he grinned, "Neither do we apparently!"
The child snorted muttering a soft, 'you're telling me' and watching as Mark feigned a pout once more. The others seemed intrigued by the idea, even as Paige zoned out to think.
The child had made friends with all of them, and they all stated how they would protect her from harm but... Would they always be there? They'd have to leave eventually right? Mark- he wasn't even legally responsible for her, in a way. Sure, he had been allowed to keep her until her parents were found and taken into custody. But what would happen after that? Would he want to go through all the trouble of adopting her, or would he just ditch her at some orphanage?
She flinched, feeling a hand gently pull her close, into a sort of side hug.
"Relax." He whispered, "I can see that you might be scared, but we'd never ever leave you. You're like... My little sister now!"
Ethan grinned, forcing Paige into shock. How had he known that her thoughts led her there, that she was concerned. She didn't want to know actually, she would just appreciate his actions right now and inquire about them at a better time.

After that, Mark practically dragged them all to the kitchen, Paige by Ethan, Ladia by Tyler, and Mark between all of them. He did his intro as Ethan stumbled off camera, coming back with a stool for the small child, the youtuber introducing them all.
"Today we have, Ethan, the 'tyler' schied, and Tyler the 'ethan' schied. Together, they make Tythan."
The outburst that came after from the two males was filled with amusement, and the shortest male wiped his eyes.
"Okay, okay. We have Ethan, the manly man! And Tyler... The fuckboi?" He laughed before continuing, "Along with Paige, the cutest pie! And Ladia- the err. Stereotypically offensive Hawaiian Girl?"
Okay, now it was getting hard to breathe, it took a full minute to stop cackling. By the end of the cooking video the cakes were quiet different to say the least.
Ethan's was decorated like a pro for Amy, but not too edible. Paige's was cute and decorated with hearts, but not edible in the least, much to her own hilarity. Mark's was... Not age appropriate, but tasty! Even after Tyler accidentally gleeked on it. Ladia's was the tastiest, but the decorations looked like that of an exploding icing can. Tyler? His cake was... Interesting. It was tasty but by far, whilst explaining it, sounded the most offensive and vulgar.
Mark still won, much to Ladia's dismay; mostly since she voted for Tyler. The two were almost as close as she was too Mark.
"Hey! I tried!" The batter covered girl exclaimed, shoving the stone face Tyler playfully, Mark snorting. Paige was being held by Ethan. Her hands gripping at his shirt in fear of being dropped, covering it in flour, his arms crossed under her bottom so he could hold her correctly.
"The key word being tried." Tyler snickered as Mark yelled from behind the maroon haired girl. "At least she didn't gleek on my cake!"
This family was odd, not related by blood, buy closer than most she had seen. The girl adored each part of her family, all the vulgar words, the morbid games, EVERYTHING.
They were part of her, a part she prayed to never lose.
