Chapter Three: "Do you know this guy?"

Ian stopped beside me and almost pushed me behind him. "Do we know you?" He asked Scott. "She does. I'm sorry I didn't believe it was you at first." He gave me a shy smile. He rubbed the back of his neck awkwardly, waiting for my response. "Oh... um... it's okay. I wouldn't believe it at first either if I was as famous as you." Anthony chuckled randomly. "So... your friend gave me your number, do you want to discuss Superfruit over dinner with Mitch and I?" Mitch waved at us from behind Scott. "Hey." Ian looked at me with raised eyebrows. "Okay... how about tonight at 7?" Scott nodded. We stood in silence for a few seconds. "Well... we have to get going..." Ian laced his fingers with mine and pulled me into his car. Anthony followed, staring at our hands. Scott nodded and walked back inside Starbucks. Mitch waved to us, and I smiled and waved. He looked pleased to get a reaction out of me.

"Did you know that guy?"

"Yeah. He's the guy who tweeted me this morning to film a video with him. I tried to introduce myself, but he didn't believe me." I shrugged. He was gripping the steering wheel with one hand, but his fingers were still interlaced with mine. I didn't want to let go and give him the wrong impression. He noticed, and pulled his hand away. "Sorry." Was all he said. "Who was the other guy?" Anthony asked.

"That was Mitch Grassi. He's another part of Superfruit." Ian turned the key and drove to my house. "You better get ready for your double date." Anthony joked. "It's not a date. I don't like him that way." I lied. Anthony laughed, "You said him. You totally do! You heard it's also with Mitch right?"

"Shut up."

"Want a drink?" I asked as we pulled up to my house. I got out, and looked back at them. They shook their head. "We have to get going. We need to film." Ian gave me a small wave and Anthony winked. They drove off and I unlocked the door and went inside. I threw my keys on the couch and grabbed my phone.

 - Guess who I saw at Starbucks? Sent at 10:53 am

Carmen - Who? Did you meet someone special? ;) Sent 10:54 am

- The one and only Scott Hoying and Mitch Grassi! We spoke too :D Sent at 10:54 am

Carmen - Congrats girl!

My phone went off again and I expected to see Carmen's text repeated, but I saw an unknown number.

Unknown Contact - It's Scott! We're excited to meet you, againSent at 10:55 am

I took a slow breath. My heart rate increased.

------------------------------------------------------------------

I slipped on a dark maroon dress that hugged my figure. Carmen picked it out, and I really dispised it. I'd rather wear something more comfortable. "Carmen... can I please wear something else?" Carmen groaned. "Oh my god! What would you rather wear?"

"How about a skirt and some random shirt?"

"No. Girl, you need to look good for them."

"Come on... they're gay, they're not going to care what I look like!"

"No, Mitch is gay, we're still not sure if Scott is or not! There's a high chance he'll like you."  She corrected me. I sighed. Carmen slipped the dress off of me and I sighed in relief. She brought out a cyan sleeveless blouse with white skinny jeans. "Put it on." She watched me with a glare, but when the outfit was on me she smiled. "Much better." I commented. She brought out some tan shoes and I slipped them on. "Don't get anything on your jeans. Let me mess with your hair." She curled the ends of my short black hair and made me have a natural look with my makeup. "Thank goodness you have an olive complexion." She laughed. I smiled and she gave me some bands to put on my wrist. "Just to have a casual feel."

------------------------------------------------------------------

Time was so slow, 7 wouldn't come fast enough. When someone finally knocked on my door it occured to me then, how did Scott know where I lived? I looked back at Carmen and she was blushing and laughing. I opened the door and stepped aside. Scott and Mitch were standing there discussing something. When the door opened they gave me a huge smile. Carmen started screaming and I put my hand over her mouth. She licked my hand and I pulled it away in disgust. "Ew! Why did you do that?!" I looked for a towel to wipe my hand on. Scott chuckled and I just wiped my hand on Carmen's sleeve. "You deserve that." Mitch laughed and I stepped away from Carmen. "See you later! Stay out of my stuff!" I closed the door and stuffed my phone in my pocket. I sat in the back while Mitch and Scott sat in the front, Mitch driving. The car was not fancy at all, and I appreciated that. I didn't feel so threatened by them this way. Scott and Mitch went back to their conversation from earlier and I played Flappy Bird on my phone.

"How does Olive Garden sound?" Scott was talking to me. I paused the game and nodded. "That sounds great! I love pasta!" I went back to my game and I realized Scott was looking at me through the rearview mirror. I smiled at him and he returned it, smiling too.

We pulled up to Olive Garden and I opened my own door, before Scott could do it. He faked a pout face and then laughed. "You don't need to do that for me, I'm perfectly capable of doing it myself. But thank you." I smiled. Scott grinned. "Table for 3." The hostess was about to freak out, "Please don't cause a scene!" Mitch beat her to it, holding his hands in front of him. She nodded, the cat had her tongue. She escorted us to a table and I sat across from Mitch and Scott. "Do you mind if we get some red wine?"

"Sure, go ahead. I'm a sucker for any kind of wine." The waitress came to us and immediately noticed Scott and Mitch. "Oh my god! You're from Pentatonix! I'm a huge fan!" She looked at me, "Did Kirstie get uglier or something?" She mumbled to me. They didn't hear but I did. "Excuse me..." I began. "Can we have a bottle of red wine?" Scott sent me a sideways look. Maybe he did hear. I huffed and she asked to see our licenses. I held mine to her and she looked at it quickly, but spent her sweet time inspecting Mitch's and Scott's. Great. We have a snotty waitress. She left for a moment, and Scott looked at me with disappointment. "Don't let her get to you. Just ignore her. We can handle her." Because not commenting on her saying I was ugly is handling her. "You're right." I forced through my teeth. Mitch was on his phone and didn't seem to notice anything around him.

I played with my hair when she came back. She set the bottle down and opened it. "Let me pour it for you guys." She poured Scott's and Mitch's, then got to me, with a scornful look she poured mine. There was barely anything. But I didn't complain. Mitch glanced up and commented, "Doesn't look like she has enough. Give her some more." The waitress glared at me and I just kept twirling my hair between my fingers. She moved the glass towards me and some of the wine spilled over and splashed onto my jeans.

"I'm so sorry! Let me clean that up for you!" She dashed away and I just stared at my lap in horror. "What... the..." I clamped my mouth shut and faked a smile. The waitress gave me some napkins and I dabbed at the spill. It was all over the front. To make it worse, I didn't have a jacket. I couldn't cover it. I tried to ignore the grin of triumph the waitress gave me the rest of the night.

 -----------------------------------------------------------------

When we were finished I sat still even when Scott and Mitch slid out of the booth. "I can't..." I gestured to the dry red-purple mess on my pants. Scott slid off his coat and gave it to me. "Just cover it up." I nodded and slipped out of the restraunt with only a few awkward looks. When they drove me home, I sat in the back miserable. The night didn't go as I wanted it to. I texted Carmen, "Be prepared for what you're about to see." I sighed and gave the jacket back to Scott. When I got out of the car he was the only one to get out. "I hope you had a nice night..." He began. "Screw it, no, I should've stuck up for you." He frowned at me. "Goodnight, Scott." I turned around and didn't look back. But I could tell I was coming home to a pissed off Carmen.

A/N: Hey guys! I hope you enjoyed that chapter, I know it was probably boring, but I had writer's block with this story. I finally finished it though. I will update this as soon as I can, once I get more ideas.

Peace!
