We went back to their house and Scott ran to his bedroom to change. Personally, I thought those wet jeans made him look good. But that's just my opinion.
Mitch was texting away on his phone. "He was asking about you."
"Oh? I couldn't tell. Thanks for... you know... not telling him." Mitch nodded. "You know he's going to find out sooner or later. He'll get the nerve to ask you and you'll just have to be honest with him."
"I plan on being honest. Though I'm not sure if I can deal with another. He's a huge 'celebrity'. I don't know what to think."
"You'll make the right decision. Don't worry about it until it happens."
"If it happens," I muttered. Scott jogged out of his room. "Mitch, you know we have a meeting today right?"
"Oh yeah. Sorry about that Chels, we need to get going." Mitch gave me a side hug and jogged out to their car. Scott came up to me. I didn't know what I was expecting. I gave him a long hug. "Thank you. For today. I had fun." He wrapped his arms around me. "No problem. You're worth it."

"So you don't want to get back together?" I didn't know what to tell Ian. I couldn't say 'Oh, I'm waiting for Scott to ask me out so I can say yes to him'. It sounded... wrong.
"I think this is for the best. I mean... I know you like me and all..."
"It's that Scott Hoying dude isn't it? You two don't fool me for a minute."
"Don't be that way."
"What way? I'm happy for you. Honestly." He hung up and I laid against the couch with a huge sigh. "Why must you screw up things? Damn it Chels..." I got up and pulled my hair back into a pony and began to cook my dinner. Hours earlier had been my stress reliever, but then Ian had to call and ask me how I was feeling. All of that stress was put back on me. I gave up on making something decent and ended up making ramen noodles. As I was stirring the seasoning into the noodles, my phone rang.
"Yeah?"
"What's up with Ian?" Anthony was worried. "I told him I didn't want to be with him again." Anthony sighed. "He's such a pussy. Don't mind him." He raised his voice, "He'll get over it!" I sighed and switched hands. "I don't know Anthony. He's taking it hard."
"That's what she said. Anyways, it's just a bump in the road. Don't feel too bad for him." I poured half of the soup into a bowl and sat down with a spoon. "I gotta eat. I'm famished. Catch you later." He mumbled a reply and I hung up. I threw the phone on the cushion beside me carelessly. I turned on the television to watch any news. Nothing I hadn't heard a week earlier.

The dishes piled up around my house. I decided to get it over with and deal with them. I dove in and scrubbed each one until it was clean. I brushed my bangs out of my eyes a few times, resulting in getting bubbles in my hair. I turned on my sterio and switched the songs until it came to Pusher Love Girl by Justin Timberlake. I began to dance around the house.
The doorbell rang, and while dancing in my sweats and messy ponytail (with bubbles in it) I answered it. Scott stood there, smiling like the devil he was. "Sup Scott?"
"Do I hear Justin Timberlake in there?"
"Of course!" I winked, pulling him inside the house and coaxing him to dance. He danced around the house with me, our fingers occasionally intertwining. When the song switched we didn't care. We kept dancing and I felt so happy and carefree.
The song switched to my playlists unexpectedly. Natural Disaster came on and I grinned at Scott. "Guess who sings this?"
"I don't know. Who?" he teased. "Maybe someone named Scott Hoying... but I don't know." Then, Valentine came on. The room became tense and we stopped dancing. Scott held his hand out to me. "Can I have this dance?" I put my tiny hand in his and he brought me close to him. We swayed to the music, it gradually getting louder and softer. Scott pulled me closer and began to sing his part softly in my ear.
It was better than seeing them live. Better then seeing them through a video. His voice was soft and angelic. I put my head against his chest, over his heart and closed my eyes. "You're beautiful. Did you know that?" his voice shook. He was nervous. "Thank you. You're so nice and you always want to help others... it's just... you're you. Perfectly you. Don't change for anyone." His hands slid down to my waist. "I want to ask you something."
Here we go.
"Do you... like me?" His voice quivered. "Yeah. I do. I like you a lot."
"Would you consider maybe... going out with me?"
"Did a duck bite your ass today?"
"Yeah," he laughed. "Well there you go." I relaxed and laid my head back on his chest again. He kissed the top of my head. "Thank you."

I woke up with a note on my bedside table.
"Dear Chels,
I don't know how you could've fell asleep while standing up. Maybe I've just never realized how comfortable my chest is. Anyways, I put you in your bed before I left. Thank you for the amazing day. I promise to treat you right.
Love, Scott"
It made me smile. I clutched the note to my chest and locked it away in a drawer. I got up and looked for my phone. It was still against the couch cushion. The screen was blinking with a picture of Scott winking at the camera. I opened my messages.
"By the way, I put my own little selfie in here for your contacts."
I laughed at the message and texted him back. It was going to be a great day. I could see it now.
