Chapter 15:

I didn't have to look up to know exactly where we were. The smell of salty water and the refreshing air quickly gave it away.

"You brought me to the beach?" I softly spoke, turning my head around to face Jake.

His posture stiffened a bit and his lips twitch as if he were about to speak.

"I love the beach Jake, how did you know?" I smile at him, resting my hand on top of his thanking his sweet gesture.

"For a second there I thought you were going to yell at me for bringing you here." He chuckles, letting out a breath of relief. " I swear I was getting ready to drive to Nate's house and beat him up."

I furrow my eyebrows together, and give him a confused look.

"Wait? Beat up Nate?" I ask. "Why would you do that."

He unbuckles his seatbelt and angles his body towards me, the sides of his lips shaping up into a shy smile.

"To be honest with you.. I was a bit nervous to mess up and take you somewhere you didn't like, so I asked Nate for some advice." He pauses for a second before continuing. " He told me about how you love coming to the beach, and how it's you're favorite place."

His words made my stomach flip. I can't believe he would ask Nate for help, that is so sweet of him to put so much thought into our first date.

"You really did that for me?"

Instead of answering, Jake turned off his car, stepping out and closing his door. It made me confuse to why he didn't answer until I saw him come around to my side. He opened my door reaching over me to unbuckle my seatbelt.

I watched all of his movements intently, turning my body to him and letting my legs hang out of the range.

"I know it's barely been a week since we've met, but I've never met someone so beautiful inside and out." He said, placing the palm of his hands on my lower thighs. The sensation of his hands on me sent chills down my spine. "I honestly really like you and I want to get to know you, everything about you."

I smiled at his sweet words.

But in all honesty I felt terrible. Not because of Jake but because I really wish those words were coming out of Jacks mouth. How horrible of a person am i? I have this incredibly sweet guy confessing that he likes me and I'm over here wishing it was Jack, the guy that can't admit what he's feeling.

I do like Jake, he's a very nice guy. But I don't think our feelings quite match the same. Maybe blocking Jack out of my thoughts will help me focus on Jake and open my heart to him. I really want to like him. And not just in a friendly way, I know it's something that can happen. He's super sweet, super caring, and it's a plus that he doesn't fall back on the looks department. God took his time creating this one.

"So what do you say Jordyn?" He spoke, breaking me out of my thoughts. "Will you allow me the chance to get to know you better and maybe take you out more?"

This wasn't a hard question to answer, I knew I wasn't going to regret spending time with Jake and giving him a chance at winning my heart.

"I'd love nothing more than to go out with you again Jake." I flash a smile at him before wrapping my arms around his neck in a small embrace.

His arms snake around my back, pulling me in closer to him.

"You don't know how happy that makes me Jordyn." I feel him pull away for a second just to place a small sweet kiss on my forehead. "Maybe my feelings for you are moving to quick but I promise you that we wont, I'll give you all the time you need and all the dates it takes to show you I can be the one to treat you like the beautiful queen you are."
