Vagabonds

They tell her to hush

To express her desires in silent whispers

'Behave like a lady should', that's what they always say

They tie her wings and chop her dreams

While she keeps wondering what she did wrong

Isn't she allowed to wish?

To roam, and to relish freedom?

Why are there limits- why only for her?

Isn't she also a human?

She wonders and searches the answers

Only to be surrounded by silence

If no one's ready to answer

She'll find them by her own, she decides

She struggles against destiny

Against the cruel norms of her society

She gains bruises that pain

And judgements that sting

But those are nothing

In front of her hard earned freedom

She'll fly, evil society, she'll fly like no one ever has

'Cause she is meant to be free and wild

No matter how you try to weigh her down

She'll break free from your stupid rules

Like the rebellious vagabond she's always been...
