I wake up late this morning because I couldn't fall asleep last night. All I had on my mind was the note and Kylie. I stumble out of bed to wash my face, brush my teeth, and get a bite to eat. I already hear rummaging through the fridge and it's only 6 am. Must be my father looking for some beer. I give my father a long and disappointing stare, just like one a teacher gives you when you get a bad grade or something.

I begin to pack lunch in the kitchen and my father is still in here, watching me. It's so awkward and quiet. I can hear the rain pelting on the roof. I'm still bound and determined to find the location of my note. But what if it's too late?

''Dad, I may need some new cleats for this soccer season,'' I say in a stern manner. He looks at me like I'm crazy and sips his beer. I sigh and walk away, feeling pissed. What an ass.

My father pissed me off so much this morning, I forgot to take an umbrella to the bus stop. I step onto the bus soaked, my hair, everything. I sit next to Taylor. ''Taylor,'' I say. ''Yeah?'' I take a deep breath. ''Well I've lost this special note I've been writing, in school, I believe. I had it in my homework folder and it must have dropped out somehow, and now who knows who has it!'' A tear runs down my already wet face. ''Was the note directed to anyone in particular? Don't worry, relax. It probably is long gone and swept up by the custodians by now. They wouldn't read it. Or maybe it'll turn up. I wouldn't stress.'' I begin to wipe my face with the napkin that was in my lunch bag. ''True. I- I just don't want this girl Kylie and her group to find it somehow. That's all I need.'' The bus comes to a stop and I realize we're here. ''We'll talk later, Rose.'' Somehow he makes me feel better.

''I'm going to pass everyone back their essays. This class did very well. I hope you all studied for the quiz we're having today.'' Shit. The quiz. I forgot to study. I quickly take out my study guide and look it over. ''Good job, Rose,'' I hear a voice tell me. I look up and smile. I got a 50/50 for this essay. I look over, attentively, to Kylie's desk. Where is she? I wonder why she's absent today. I remember I didn't see her in Science either. I wonder if she got in trouble for something involving the note?
