Rachel looked up. She was in a public computer lab. It was empty except for the manager who was almost asleep. She was doing some more research about the Mexican jumping vipers. She walked over to the manager. His head was on the table and he was snoring loudly. Rachel decided that she'd give herself access to the printer in the corner of the computer lab. She quickly set it up and began printing out the pages she wanted. Once she was done she stapled it together with a stapler she had found on the table. Then she pulled out a few bills of cash and placed it on the table under a paperweight. Then she walked out closing the door behind her. The sheets of paper she had were full of information about Mexican jumping vipers also known as atropoides or jumping vipers. She flipped over to the last page, the one which had caught her attention the most-
Geographic range
Found in the mountains of eastern southeastward on the Atlantic versant and lowlands. On the Pacific versant, they occur in isolated populations in east-central and southern Mexico-Guatemala, El Salvador, Costa Rica, and Panama.
The common name alludes to the supposed ability these snakes have to launch themselves at an attacker during a strike, thereby bridging a distance that is equal to or greater than the length of the body.
The basic information was that they lived mainly in Mexico, Guatemala, El Salvador, Costa Rica, and Panama. She closed the sheets of paper.
She pulled out a notepad she had bought earlier that day. It had a few words scribbled on it-
" Suspects-
1) 3 member family Too busy "
Rachel had tried to speak with them yesterday. The wife spoke for a few minutes before saying she was busy and rushing off. Betty told Rachel that the family had a strict tourism plan and they only stopped by the hotel to sleep and they left early in the morning to visit more tourist spots so they had absolutely no time to buy snakes. Rachel had crossed out their names from her list.
"2) Robertsons family"
Rachel was on her way to speak with them right now. Rachel stopped a taxi and got in. The public computer lab had been very hard to find. Betty wouldn't let her use the hotel computer so Rachel had hunted down this computer lab.
She was too busy reading the information she had taken a print out of to notice that the taxi wasn't going on the route to her hotel. In fact, it was going the exact opposite route.
Sorry for this short chapter guys. So, the story just got a bit more interesting. If any of you are wondering, the jumping vipers are an actual type of snake. You can check them out on Wikipedia over here- https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Atropoides
The place- Blue Hills, Maine is also an actual place. It's really beautiful, (I've never really been there but you can check out the beautiful pictures the internet gives you). Hope you guys like this chapter!
