Bonnie groaned as she accidentally moved too fast and felt dizzy. She needed to see her doctor again, but for now she had to get ready for the afternoon tea.
She's already postponed the one she originally postponed. It was rude to call it off again, despite her stupid sore body. Last week she had cramps, so she figured her period would come soon.
So just to make sure no accidents happened at Sheryl's place later, she wore a pad and got going.
Sheryl lived closer to her than Zion, meaning she thankfully didn't have a house the size of a school. Bonnie wouldn't have been surprised but figured Sheryl wasn't someone like that. Bonnie knew she lived alone, so why buy a big house.
The one she was currently in was still big for only one person, but once the front door opened, Bonnie knew she didn't take care of the house herself. A maid opened the door with a tight smile.
"Hello, you must be Bonnie. Come inside." The woman smiled, making Bonnie feel welcomed.
"Thank you." She said politely, smiling back at the middle-aged maid."I'm Margarine, the head maid of this house. Misses Dawsey is in the parlour." The woman said, leading Bonnie into said parlour. She admired the house. It was modern, yet felt homey. She saw many pictures on the walls. A lot of them were of Zion and his brother.
"Thank you, Margarine." Sheryl said, standing up as the two women approached her.
"I will send Sarah to bring the tea in a minute, miss." Margarine nodded at both and then turned around to leave them alone."I'm so glad you could make it, dear. Please take a seat." Sheryl said after hugging Bonnie and smiling at her. Bonnie was surprised Sheryl hugged her, but felt her heart warm. It's been a while since she got hugged. But she sat down in front of Sheryl, trying not to look too awkward.
"Tell me, how was your day?" Sheryl asked, looking genuinely interested. Bonnie started telling her about her day and also apologizing again for postponing last time. Sheryl just waved her hand in dismissal.
"It's alright, dear. You did tell me you had cramps. Are they gone now?" Sheryl asked just when Sarah walked in, bringing the tea. Bonnie waited until the maid left before she answered her question.
"Yes, thank you for asking. I'm fine now. This weather is just really tiring me out. I hate the heat." Bonnie said, making her friend laugh before she took a sip of the tea. It smelled like berries in the whole room and Bonnie usually loved the smell of it. But something was off.
"Let me guess, you're a fall person?" Sheryl asked, making her shake her head.
"I actually like winter the best." Bonnie answered."Wow, I've never met someone who loves winter. It's always either summer or fall. Why winter for you?" Sheryl took another sip.
"I don't think it has much to do with the actual temperature. Even though I do prefer the cold rather than the heat. But I think it's winter because it reminds me a lot of where I grew up. We always had snow and I associate a lot of good memories with snow. Then there's the specials on t.v." Bonnie said, making Sheryl laugh.
"I do get the specials, they always excite me for christmas even though I'm no kid anymore." Sheryl said, sensing asking about her past would ruin the mood.
Bonnie did seem rather uncomfortable talking about her parents at the dinner weeks ago. Especially after Maddox told her what he knew about the woman in front of her, Sheryl couldn't blame her.
"Me neither. And it's totally okay for adults to be excited for Santa. There's no age restriction." Bonnie said, bringing the cup of tea to her mouth again. Sheryl nodded in agreement but stopped as soon as she saw Bonnie's eyes widen.
"What happened, are you okay?" Sheryl asked and stood up to near her. Bonnie nodded.
"I'm okay. I just- Where is the bathroom?" Bonnie quickly asked."Follow me, I'll show you." Bonnie was about to say that she didn't have to walk with her, but refrained from it. She felt like throwing up and had no intention on doing that in the parlour. She needed the bathroom as soon as possible.
Sheryl rushed towards her bathroom and hoped her guest was okay. What could've happened to her?
"Thank you. I'll be out in a second." Bonnie said, once they reached the bathroom.
"Don't you worry, take your time, dear." She heard Sheryl answer before she closed the door and took a deep breath. What in the world was happening to her?
