Chapter 12-New Student and jealousy?

After me and Robert talked about my dad I felt a bit better, I never talked to people about what happened, not even Kiera. But Kiera was right, talking to people helps to cope with traumatising things that has happened to you, it just depends on who you talk to.

Now I am sat in English with Kiera, Becky and Rachel. We were supposed to be discussing our favorite book but we were actually talking about what we were going to do at the weekend. "So what are you guys doing this weekend" Rachel asked. "I don't know" said Becky, "not a clue" me and Kiera said. "well if you want, my house will be empty this weekend cause my parents will be going on a small business trip, soooo you guys could come over and we could have a movie weekend" Rachel suggested. "Sounds like a plan" we all said to Rachel. When we finally decided to discuss our favorite book there came a knock at the door, then the head of English walked in followed by what looked like a new student. I have never seen him around the school. He is wearing a Black Veil Brides band t-shirt with black skinny jeans and converse, his hair is also jet black. Robert silenced the class then the head started to speak. "Hello Mr Downey, Hello class, I am sorry to disrupt your lesson but there is someone I would like you all to meet" he pointed to the boy behind him and told him to step forward, then he started talking again. "Everyone I would like to introduce you to Benjamin, he is a new student and I trust you all will treat Benjamin well, good day to you all" with that being said he walked out of the class room. Robert stepped away from his desk and walked towards Benjamin. "So Benjamin my name is Robert Downey Jr but in class you call me Mr Downey" Benjamin nodded. "Benjamin would you mind telling us a bit about yourself". He nodded then began to speak. "Err well my name is Benjamin, I am 17 years old, I umm listen to heavy metal and rock music" he seems kinda shy.  "Thank you Benjamin, I don't have a seating plan so sit where you want" he nodded again then looked for a place to sit. Becky being Becky was daydreaming after he said his name was Benjamin, she decided to shout out his name without realising it. Benjamin looked over at her and she covered her face in embarrassment. As funny as it was to see Becky embarrassed I said "you can come and sit with us if you want". He smiled at me and walked over to our table where Rachel pointed to a chair next to me. "Hi Benjamin, I'm Rachel" she extended her hand for him  to shake. "This is Becky" she pointed to Becky who had her head on the table. "And this is Kiera" she pointed to Kiera who extended her had for him to shake. He looked at me. "Hi I'm Marianne" I said as I extended my hand out and he shook it. While shaking his hand I took in his appearance. He was wearing black skinny jeans, a black veil brides t-shirt and black converse. His hair is jet black and he has snake bite piercing. After that everything went silent. I broke the silence "Benjamin I like your t-shirt" "thank you, do you like black veil brides" "ye I do" "what is your favourite song" "I don't have a favourite song but I love knives and pens, fallen angels and saviour" "I love those songs too". We spoke about black veil brides, bullet for my valentine, pierce the veil and falling in reverse. Once we finished talking about falling in reverse Benjamin's phone vibrated. As he was reading the text his facial expressions changed to a frown. Robert clapped his hands together and said "ok well the bell will be going any minute so pack your things". We all got our stuff ready and waited for the bell. "Hey Marianne, do you have any more lessons today" Benjamin asked. "No I don't why?" "well I was wondering if someone could show me around town and stuff since my mum now can't come and pick me up, I don't get me car till next week and I also don't know my way home" he said shyly. "Of course I would love to show you around" "thank you so much" I smiled at him. When the bell went I told Benjamin to wait outside the class room, he nodded and left with everyone else. I noticed Robert was giving me strange looks during the lesson so I thought I would stay behind and ask him if he if alright. I walked over to his desk, I don't think he noticed me because when he looked up he jumped. "Jesus Christ babe, you scared the crap out of me" he put his hand over his chest. "Aww I'm sorry" "its ok, I was just thinking and didn't hear you walk over". He looked down at his desk then back up to me. "What's up" I asked. "Nothing, I'm fine" "no you're not, I know when there's something wrong" he didn't say anything, he just looked down. "Babe what's wrong" "I'm not sure if I like Benjamin sitting next to you" "what why" " I don't know but I also don't want you hanging around with him" "why". Now I was slightly annoyed, Benjamin seems like a really nice guy. "It's obvious he likes you" "I don't think he does" "well I'm pretty sure he does" "you keep thinking that then but he doesn't" I paused. "Right well I'm going, I have plans" "where are you going" "I'm going to show Benjamin around town" "I told you I don't want you hanging around with him" "and I'm telling you I don't care" I turned around and walked out of the room but not before slamming the door. I walked down the corridor to find Benjamin talking to Scott. He saw me and said good bye to Scott and sped walked away towards me. "Hey Benjamin are you ok" he looked a bit pale. "ye I think so, the guy I was talking to just came up to me and said not to hang around with you and he will be watching me, he kinda creped me out" "just ignore Scott, he just annoys everyone" "well that's a relief I thought he was gonna kidnap me" "I don't think he will do that" he smiled "good". "Do ya wanna head out of the school then" "ye sure". We walked out of the building talking about another band called Avenged Sevenfold, we were just about to reach my car. "I wanna see Avenged Sevenfold live" Benjamin said. "I have and they were amazing" "oh my god what did synyster gates like, he is like so hot" once he said the last part he immediately put his hands over his mouth. "please tell me you didn't just hear what I just said" 'you mean the part where you said synyster gates was hot, nope I did not hear that" "you probably hate me now" "why would I hate you" "I'm gay" he said just above a whisper as he looked down at the ground "ye your gay so what". He looked up at me and grinned. "so you don't hate me" "no I don't hate you, I know a few gay people" "really" "yep". He pulled me in for a hug then grabbed my hand and we walked the rest of the way to my then we got into my car and we drove away.

 Robert's POV

"And I'm telling you I don't care", she slammed the door and walked away. What the fuck just happened. Why did I tell Marianne she couldn't hang out with Benjamin. I can't believe I said that. I put my head on the desk. there was nock at the door then Kiera walked in. "Hey Mr Downey are you ok" "Kiera you know you can call me Robert and no I'm not, me and Marianne just had an argument" "what happened" "I told her she couldn't hang around with Benjamin" "why did you say that" "I don't know" "your jealous" "I am not" "ye, why don't you look out your window and look at her car". I did as she said and he was holding her hand, they were both smiling then they hugged. I didn't realise I was holding a pencil till it snapped. "Like I said your jealous that someone is taking notice of your girlfriend cause you thing he will take her away from you" she didn't say anything else she just walked back out of the room. I sat back down at my desk to think.

Marianne's POV

I took Benjamin round the town, now we are sat in the ice-cream shop. Me and Benjamin talked about all the stuff we like, we have a lot of stuff in common. "so Marianne do you have a boyfriend" "yes I do, what about you" "I did but..." he paused, his facial expressions changed to sad.  "you don't have to say" "no its ok, my mum said I need to tell someone", I smiled. "ok if you wanna talk about it go for it, I will listen" "thank you" "its ok, what are friends for". He smiled. "Well we were sat in my room watching a film, my mum knew I was gay but my father didn't,  he didn't like gays he thinks they are disgusting. Anyway me and Connor were in my room watching a movie and we snuggled. He turned his head and kissed me, I kissed back of course but my father had been drinking and came home earlier than usual. He burst through my door and saw us kissing and..." he stopped talking. "you don't have to say ok". He nodded but he carried on. "He dragged him off me and he started to beat him, I tried to stop him but he hit me over the head with something which knocked me out cold. I woke up in a hospital bed. My mum was crying, she told me that my father had been arrested for the attempted murder of Connor and me. I found out that Connor had to have surgery and he was in the same hospital as me. I went to see him, when I walked into his room he started to cry, his parents told me they never wanted to see me ever again because of my father. So  my mum tried to find a job and eventually found one a year later so we moved and here we are. I wrote a letter to Connor and his parents apologising about my father and that I was moving away, I put the address for the new house down for if Connor wanted to talk". By the time ben had finished talking he was crying so hard that we had to leave the ice-cream shop and go to the car. We sat in the car for about 20 minutes till Ben had calmed down. "Ben are you ok" "ye I'm ok, can you take me home" "of course, what's the address" "um here". He handed me his phone and the address was on the screen. I Recognise that address. It's Kiera's. "Ben are you sure this is right cause this is where kiera lives" "ye I'm positive" "ok if you sure". We drove to Kiera's and I parked outside of her house. We got out of my car and walked up to Kiera's front door. Ben just stood there. "Ben why don't you knock or something" I asked. Ben didn't say a word, he just stood in the same spot not moving. I walked in front of him and opened the door and walked in, dragging Benjamin with me. "Hey Kiera" "Hi Marianne, I didn't know you were coming over" "Neither did I" "Ok well come in, this is Caroline she is staying here with her son till their house is ready" "Hi Caroline i'm Marianne" i extended my hand for her to shake. She took my hand "Marianne it's a pleasure to meet you". I grabbed Benjamin's hand and pulled him into the front room where everyone was. "Hi Benjamin" Kiera said. "Hi Kiera, hi mum" "wait mum" Kiera was confused. She looked at Caroline. "I did say me and my son" "ohhhh I thought he would be younger". I let out a small laugh. We let Benjamin get settled in at Kiera's so I decided to leave. "Kiera, i'm gonna head off now I will see you tomorrow" "ok Marianne, see you tomorrow". I walked out of Kiera's house, got into my car and drove home. 'What a day' I thought as I walked into my house and went up to my room but not before locking the door. I climbed into my comfy bed and went to sleep.
