WOLF

We quickly walked towards City S. This was how we were going to get stronger. Just the two of us against countless numbers of Shades. I glanced over at Aramis. He was messing with one of the collars on his hoodie. As we walked into the city, I put a toothpick in my mouth as Aramis put a cigarette in his, lighting it with a click of his fingers. We kept walking casually into the city down the main road, walking past long abandoned cars and high, ancient looking skyscrapers. I realised just how much the world had changed since the Infection. Shit, even before that. Before Shades were even a thing, the world was divided into Chasers and Frighters, with the Black Cat Deal being signed, the world was against us even before the zombies. Back then, I was still a Solo Hunter. Shit it was only two years ago but it felt like decades. I did something I hadn't done in a long time. I looked at my watch. But not at the time, at the date. It was the 16th of June 2135. Some consider that the dead middle of the year. It was also my 18th birthday. Shit. Then I realised that this also meant that Aramis was 18 too. His birthday was Valentine's Day. Fuck. I was shaken from my line of thought by a sudden wind blowing, making my trench coat whip about. Aramis' blond hair was blown back. Then my instinct told me that we weren't alone.
"Aramis" I said
"I see him" he replied. The first Shade was slowly crawling down the side of a building to investigate us. It approached slowly, its eyes partly closed, low moans coming from its rotting mouth. When it realised we were humans that weren't immune, its eyes snapped open to reveal just white, it's moans were turned into a throaty scream and it ran at us. I instinctively reached for Surasshu, then remembered it was stuck in the ground at the entrance of Ryder House.
"Dark Fire Fist!" I heard, then a wave of black fire disintegrated the Shade.
"You're welcome" Aramis said. Suddenly we heard more screaming. The first Shades screaming had alerted all the others. I turned to see a whole wave of them scrambling over cars to get to us. Cars.
"Aramis, cars" I said. He smiled
"Dark Fire Blast!" He threw a black fireball at a car that was being climbed on by over ten Shades and was surrounded by other cars. When the Dark Fire Blast hit,  the car exploded, exploding other cars around it and killing tons of Shades. More were coming from the smaller roads now. Imparticles formed around my fist.
"Imparticle Wave" a wave of Imparticles smashed into Shades, the tiny metals ripping them apart.
You're suicidal Getaway thought to me
It's fun I replied, then used Imparticle Punch as a Shade jumped at me. Another Shade shot at me with a cattlemen revolver. I dodged and used Tornado Kick, breaking the Shades neck. I saw Aramis punch a Dark Fire covered hand through a Shade. More and more Shades kept coming, and we kept beating them back.
"Dark Fire Flamethrower!" Aramis said, opening both his fists so his palms were facing the Shades. Two pillars of Dark Fire erupted from his hands, incinerating the Shades as they came.
"Black Repluse!" I said, punching the ground. A dome of Imparticles expanded from my fist, allowing me and Aramis in it, everything else in it was sent flying.
"Dark Fire Hawk!" Aramis said, the black hawk flying through Shades, leaving burning holes in their stomachs
"Dark World!" I said. It wasn't as big as when I was in Black Rage but oh well. It shredded through Shades like they were paper
"Dark Fire Sweep!" Aramis said, kicking his leg in a low sweep, a column of Dark Fire sweeping the Shades legs.
"Imparticle Shot!" I said and raised my hand. A singular Imparticle rose. I fired it at the Shades. It shot straight through them, cutting through their brains instantly killing them.
You feel uneasy without a sword
Yeah I do.
Get a new one
Maybe. I thought back as I used Imparticle Kick on another Shade.

Two hours later and we were backing out of the city annihilating the Shades as they literally climbed over each other to try and kill us. Some of them got a few hits on me, but none of them bit me.
"Field of Flame!" Aramis said, kneeling and putting his palm to the ground. Suddenly large columns of fire erupted from the ground, decimating all the Shades around us.
"We're almost out!" He called to me
"One last attack?"
"Sure" he said
I concentrated. "Imparticle Wave!" I said
"Dark Fire Fist!" Aramis said, the two attacks side by side combined and destroyed all the Shades coming at us as well as knocking over four of the buildings. Aramis and I then sprinted out of the City. None of the Shades ran after us. We made our way back to Ryder House beaten, scratched and exhausted. But we knew that we'd be back tomorrow. That was a challenge. And we both loved it.
"How many?" Aramis asked
"11,056" I replied
"Fuck off" he said. I smiled
"How many did you get?
"11,055" he said. I laughed
"Sucks to be you" I said
"I'll beat you Tomorrow" Aramis said
"If you say so bro." I said
